Inge is the man. He certainly has deserved this success he has had thus far this year. He is a franchise player with his glove, always has been, and this season his bat has shown what a terrific player he really is.

I dunno about that, the Dodgers are looking very strong, and they haven't had ManRam for 2 months now. The Mets amd Phillies have been a little slow, and that division is worse than ours. The Cardinals and Dodgers are definitely the class of the NL, and that will be a good CS if they meet.

Sweep! Great Series by the good guys!

Zetterberg to Kings? (e3) According to my sources within the Detroit Red Wings organization, the Los Angeles Kings are willing to part with LW Kyle Calder and a Gary Bettman bobblehead to obtain the services of C Henrik Zetterberg. Remember, you heard it here first!

Great, just when our anemic offense finally gets going, the game is called in the bottom of the 7th lol. at least we pulled out a 10-4 win!

Willis gets sent to the DL with an anxiety disorder, Maggs gets benched indefinitely to try and look for his missing bat. Alfredo Figaro gets Willis' spot on saturday. 5-2 with a 4.10 ERA and struck out 59 batters in 68 innings in AA Erie.

Because he invented GUM TIME! If that isn't the reason, I am at a loss. When is the last time he even recorded an out? 4 batters, 2 hits, 2 walks, 4 runs. Not really big numbers... more like little league numbers. Hopefully Jackson can get us a win tonight, he has been money all season.

what are the tigers going to do with Galarraga? He has been sucking bigtime lately.

you know what? I love the wings, and its tough to watch them lose. but it is just a game. Lord willing the sun will come up tomorrow, I will be here tomorrow. It is just a game. My life does not depend on the wings winning or losing. it is entertainment. thats it. Yes, it was phenomenal to see the Wings win the cup 4 times, but like the other 8 times in those 12 years, we didn't win this time, oh well. Next year is a new season and we will have another wings team to root for with some different players. If people are drinking themselves to sleep in depression over this, they need to seriously re-evaluate their priorities.

Hey, this was a fantastic season, it didnt go as expected defensively during the season, but we made it to the last shot of game 7 of the finals, after winning a cup last season. I would call that a large achievement.

Oh buddy... this. is. it. That just hit me.

sorry, had to do it lol

Well, no matter the outcome, we took the league to the final bell: game 7 of the finals. Throughout the regular season many fans, including myself, were concerned about our poor defensive effort through 82 games. Our penalty kill left something to be desired, our goaltending was mediocre, the only stat that was above average was wins. However, we got some kinks worked out and swept through a tough first time playoff team in the Blue Jackets. Then was what many called the real battle for the cup with the round 2 matchup with the Anaheim Ducks. They took us to 7 games and we had to battle through a very physical series that saw a bit of everything from questionable hits, questionable calls, overtime letdowns, and a blue collar goal to end the series. Round three was in itself a challenge. The Hawks boasted a plethora of young stars who were bound and determined to make a mark in the NHL. They made it to the conference finals in some of their first ever playoff experience. Though the Wings took the series in 5 games, 3 of them went into overtime. This series brought a nationally unknown, but locally loved Darren Helm into the spotlight with an epic penalty kill reminiscent of Zetterberg's kill from last year. Helm broke out in this series as a player to be reckoned with, leading the playoffs in hits. Then came the Stanley Cup Finals. A rematch of last year, the finals were sure to be exciting, and thus far, have lived up to every expectation. The Penguins were devastated last year after seeing the Wings lift the Cup in Pittsburgh. The Red Wings plucked Marian Hossa and Ty Conklin out of Pittsburgh to join the Red and White for another bite at the apple, only to see the Penguins come back in full force, with a mid-season replacement coach, and some new (and old) replacements to the roster. Bill Guerin and Chris Kunitz joined the Black and Gold to bring some experience to a roster looking for revenge. Through 6 games of the finals, the home teams have held serve, with close games fought and dominant games won. Now comes Game 7, the last game NHL fans will see in this season. Each team has fought through adversity and are both well rested after a 2 day break. This is now a 1 game season to determine who has the will and determination to step up and close this epic series out. Will the Red Wings veteran laced lineup repeat the task of hoisting the 35 pound silver cup again, or will the young upstart Penguins pull an upset for the ages and win a game 7 on enemy territory? We shall see tonight as the Detroit Red Wings and Pittsburgh Penguins lace up their skates one last time in a duel to the death. Winner takes all, loser goes home empty handed. This is the pinnacle of all professional sports. 1 game to decide a champion. Break out the beer and pizza, sit back, and enjoy the game of the decade.

Dang JV! He is on some kind of run here!

No one has to worry about Pav's foot. My boss is an ex-NHL player and he is good friends with Griffins assistant coach Jim Paek. They were talking the other day, and Paek said that Pav's foot is not the problem. I won't go into further detail now, but I am sure that you will find out what really happened after the series is over. But it is not anything to do with his foot, that I am sure of.
-
Yeah, but now is a real test. The ChiSox always play us hard. Bondo is pitching game 2 of the double-header, lets see how that goes.
-
JV is pitching like he wants a Cy Young. Too bad no one else wants to play baseball.
-
I am encouraged about the next 2 games 1. The Wings are back home with last change 2. Pav is back, always a bonus 3. we have 2 days off after saturday, so we should have sunday off completely, then fly down to pitts with a new sense of purpose

Here we go boys! Time to Amp it up and show the Pens a full 60 minute game of hockey. I don't care if we score 15 goals, DO NOT LET UP. Put the Pens in their place! Bring this thing back home and finish them off! Enough of playing around, pound them, beat them, hit them, destroy them. Time to put this series away! Oh yeah, it is game 4, so pencil Hos in for 2 goals!

Wings fans should tune out to protest Versus, officiating

Its the frickin stanley cup finals and the wings are playing. I dont care if they are on the lifetime network, I will watch as much as I possibly can. We can't influence anything with the NHL or the Refs, so why the heck punish ourselves by not watching a Cup Finals game? -
there is no hockey tonight and we have nothing better to do. lol
-
Yeah, JV, Jackson, Porcello have been studs so far, and even with mediocre play by willis and Galarraga we are definitely in a good position in the Central. The bats have by no means come alive yet, Maggs is starting to heat up a bit and Cabby is slumping, but Grandy and Inge have a little inside battle going for the HR lead.

"It's not over til the fat lady sings" that is totally true, but she is definitely in the building and is getting help fitting into her stage dress. Wings 2-0!

thats just the thing, Playoff hockey is won with lucky bounces and timely depth scoring. Detroit has won like this before i.e. McCarty in '97. Depending on Malkin and Crosby to carry the entire team is the Penguins downfall just like LeBron with the Cavaliers this year. Champions are won with a total team effort. Will, determination, and timely scoring is what separates Champions from Penguins.
