The yankees miss the playoffs and all of a sudden start trying to buy a championship. CC Sabathia, AJ Burnett, and now Mark Tiexera... added to the over 100 million they spent on A-Rod. Before they sign Tiexera, the yankees have a 207 million dollar payroll... that is 70 million over the next closest team. This team will ruin baseball. Sell... Yankees will still miss the world series.

It is rhetoric like this that is ruining the game and league!

I sent this comment in... hey, just last week, someone died from choking on a peanut... should we make peanuts illegal too? Grow up man, thousands and thousands of hockey fights have happened and only a fraction of a percent of those people have any kind of significant injury. should we ban the legality of running over a catcher in baseball? It is part of the game, sometimes people get hurt, but they knew that when they laced up the skates. -
wow, I will be 35 when his contract is up good stuff, he is here to stay. true loyalty is painted in red!

well, lions hire former Titans D-Coordinator Jim Schwartz... lets see what he can do with this pile of crap team. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3835911

this will never happen, just think of the logistics... ice needs to be cold, it is not cold in Pasadena or Las Vegas. I work at an ice rink and we keep the ice somewhere between 10 and 20 degrees. The air temp in the rink never goes above 55. Having an ice rink in 70-80 degree temperatures will be almost impossible to keep up for an NHL game. If someone in the NHL is actually contemplating this, they should be enrolled back in grade school so they can take 4th grade science again.

with all the armchair quarterbacking going on, I sure as hell would not want to be in the front office of this organization right now... Ford and Millen have screwed this team up so much, it will be a long time before we see any sustainable results. there are just so many things wrong with this team top to bottom, positive change is going to take a ton of work and time. i think this is going to be a 5 year process before we get any kind of nucleus back that the team can build around. we just need a few young studs who we know will be in this organization for the long haul and make them leaders so they can give this team some kind of identity. just start with offensive and defensive line. whether via draft or free agency, get the trenchmen set, at least we will have some kind of say at the line. Start there and build out.

Simple solution to the helmet's staying on fighting situation
rwfan007 replied to stevkrause's topic in General
most fights occur in the heat of the moment, players are not going to stop, unlatch their visors, and then fight. -
what a small world. I am a zam driver at the Grand Valley rink. I will probably be working the night you guys play. Like redwingsgirl said, Rivertown Crossings Mall would be your best option in this area, it is like 7-10 minutes away.

i am not suggesting anything. I said we can basically draft any position because we need improvement at every position, but would they pass on a sure thing superstar like crabtree?
-
espn is reporting that Crabtree is going to enter the draft... he is the best reciever in the draft, and arguably the best overall player in the draft. the lions have a history of bad WR picks, but with this kind of talent, should they pass on him? mind you they have 2 1st round picks, the #1 overall and dallas' pick too. They can virtually draft any position, because they need help at every position. This could be an interesting scenario.

they just interviewed Nick... he said he is good to go tomorrow. To tell the truth, I think the only way he WOULDN'T play tomorrow is if he had his foot amputated.

after trying for the leagues worst start to a season, the lions are going to play the saints today... I have 2 comments/statement to this 1. ESPN analyst Merril Hodge picked the Lions to win today because... 2. The Saints do have a reputation for being the team that 0-fer teams beat to not be 0-fer anymore. come on 0-15!!!!!

do hall of famers normaly have their numbers retired?
rwfan007 replied to ben_usmc's topic in General
no, the wings have a big number of people in the HoF, but only a half dozen retired numbers. http://www.redwingalumni.com/hallOfFame.html -

Its baseball season! Pitchers and Catchers report to Training Camp Today!!! I am really excited for this season to get started!
-
i will be sure to watch the next 2 weeks just to see history. no team has gone 0-fer since the schedule went to a 16 game season. this is definitely going to be an interesting offseason as virtually every position could be upgraded with the #1 pick lol.
