but he is great on defense Shelton: One hit wonder, but better players came in and took his job away= Tigers version of Willy
-
Casey: Not the flashiest player, but knows how to dig down and get the job done= Tigers version of Homer lol heres a good one: Leyland: Back from retirement to lead Detroit to the promised land= Tigers version of Hasek Wilson: quality back-up with virtually no drop off when he takes over for the #1 backstop= Tigers version of Ozzie Thames: Not going to be an all-star, but can put up good numbers when called upon= Tigers version of Sammy Santiago: a young veteran who performs admirably when put in the game= Tigers version of Cleary Monroe: Youngster who is really going to be good= Tigers Version of Flipper or Kronner
-
Magglio: maybe a shade past his prime but can put up good numbers and performs in the post-season= Tigers version of Lang Bonderman: All Star youngster who will ba a force for years to come= Tigers version of Pavel Robertson: Not the most skilled, but knows what to do to get the job done, up-and-coming youngster who is just coming into his own= Tigers version of Franzen

the title of the thread is book titles you will NEVER see. brett's got insane wheels. you got the second part right though

We seem to be doing alright without Hank, Homer, Dom, Cleary, and Sammy... good teams win even without their best stars playing. good teams don't use injury as an excuse. cliche, i know, but its the truth

I can't wait til we have all of our big guns back in the line-up. If we can win NOW, imagine having everyone healthy. We are missing a potential #1 line in Homer/Hank/Bert, 2/3 of a 3rd line in Sammy and Danny, and our #1 netminder... that gets me excited about when we have a full roster again!

homers... nuff sed

yeah that was a party pooper night for the Oil "I really screwed up this time" Gary Bettman "I swear I have scored before" Alex Ovechkin "The Importance of drafting in the first round" Holland "My favorite razor" Sidney Crosby "I eat froot loops and watch TaleSpin before every game" Crosby again

this is the second time in a week that I have to work on the Nashville night! AGH! it absolutely pisses me off! Well, I think Dats and Flip are going to find some chemistry and account for all the wings goals in a 3-1 victory.
-
yeah they also said nicky was overrated... uhm 4 or 5 norris trophies is not overrated. that means you were the best d-man in the league.. how many preds have norris trophies?

When I went to the charity softball game last fall I met quite a few of them. I met Nick, Nick Jr, Malts, Hank, Pavel, Cheli, Willy, Johnson, Cleary, and Sammy, they all signed my t-shirt. Also there, but didn't sign my shirt was: Lilly, Lang, Homer, Drapes, Lindsay, Mule, and I think Schneider. The only person who stood there long enough to talk was Cheli. My dad asked him if he had 2 years left in him and he said, "Yeah, more like 2 weeks, I just pulled my hammy... I've never done that before." It was quite funny watching the swedes trying to play softball. Lang and Lilly I don't think have ever played before and looked like 2nd graders playing. Lilly batted one-handed. p.s. the dates on the pictures are wrong... never did figure out how to change it... it was September of '06

its a good problem to have when you have so many options. this way, everyone will have to perform if they want a spot in the line-up. Homer-Dats-Zetts Franzen-Lang-Bert Malts-Draper-Calder Cleary-Flip-Sammy which leaves Huds, Kopecky on the bench I would like to see mule, langer, and bert on the same line. that would be a big, tough line to stop.

yeah, rex looked pretty good last night on that breakaway...
-
as long as we are all healthy come playoff time...

Mine is kind of weird too. I buy a gatorade or powerade before every game, and I use quarters. The quarters, however, I store in my left shoe on my way to the rink. I did that one time and scored 4 goals so I have done it ever since.

He was named NHL first star for the month of February... he will be missed for the next 2-3 weeks http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app/?service=page&a...rticleid=289875

when the griffins played an exhibition game at the rink where I work, like 8 or 10 players were kicking a soccer ball around. I asked them and they said it was just to get their blood flowing and to get loose.

hey, mowers got skills, the wings should have retired his number last year http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMqH0e2MgzA

Yeah, I think Holland really showed some balls and genious by really stealing Bert and Calder. Like I have posted before, GM's aren't stupid, they know whats going on and will look for the right price before sacrificing the team's entire future.
-
It worked alright for Forsberg in '02... he missed the entire regular season and smoked everyone in the playoffs. Bert is supposed to be back 8-12 games left in the regular season so he will get a few games in before the playoffs. Plus he has been skating for the past few weeks so he isn't entirely out of shape.

What is the greatest defenseman in red wings history doing today?
