This is it, people. One win away from bringing Lord Stanley's Cup back to where it belongs... Hockeytown, USA. 102 games played that have all lead up to this night. It has been 2,181 Days since the Cup was last raised on Detroit's ice. Players have come and gone from Detroit in its quest to bring the cup back to Detroit since we last saw it, though ultimately Coach Mike Babcock has whittled his team into the powerhouse we see before us. No longer are we too soft to make it, no longer is the torment of first round and second round exits killing what was a promising team far too early. In 2008 all the stars have aligned to bring us to June 2, one win away from proving to the world that the Red Wings are back on the map, and not even the NHL's Superman Crosby and his Robin, Malkin, can stop the determination of this team. We deserved every win that has come out of this post-season and we deserve to lift the cup when this series is over. There is no looking towards next year or last year tonight. Tonight we look at game 5 and seeing the will of a champion overcome everything the NHL threw at us this 2007-2008 season. Welcome to history, Detroit, this is your night, and no one can take it away from us!
