tsn.ca is pretty quick in updating stuff
-
there is gunna be some desperate bids tomorrow now that hardly anything has gone down
-
people won't have to photoshop mac in a wings jersey like they have with other potential pick ups, they can just show something like this... now for sure I gotta get to a griffins game before mid march
-
wow, people, take a chill pill and sleep it off. its not even march yet and you guys are packing it in. "It aint over til its over"

you never know... players take less money to play for winning teams all the time. I wouldnt be suprised to see hossa come here for less than market value for the security of playing for the Detroit Red Wings for 4 years
-
We arent saying that Hossa will come cheap, we are saying that we can afford him. We have a lot of cap room, and we might as well use it on a star who can get this team scoring again. Right now, our "2nd line" of Flip, Sammy, Huds, Franzen, Kopecky arent producing at all. we need need need some scoring help, we have enough great defensive forwards, we can afford to have an average defensive forward who can net 40-50 goals for us. Hossa, if he is traded, is looking to sign a multi-year deal and if that is with us, expect him to make a serious splash with the talent that is in our system right now

so, looking over the league as a whole, which trade is gunna get the dominos falling? Richards? Sundin? or what about a depth trade like Stuart?
-
I can't wait, 2 more days and all this talk will be over. The next time the wings play, there will be a new roster, hopefully with hossa/stuart on a plane to Detroit. I am just getting too anxious to function and I can not wait til tuesday afternoon

we have good defensive prospects as shown by our defense tonight. however we have no offensive prospects.

i would rather have the injuries now than what happened last season

6 is unofficially retired for Larry Aurie, and 16 will not be worn again in the near future, if ever. No veteren will give up his number to the new guy coming in. Malts, Dats, and Cheli will keep their numbers because they are fixtures on this team, countless jerseys have been produced for the public with those players and numbers, so the new guys will have to make another choice to make famous in the winged wheel

With all this trade talk going on, its time to take a step back and look at the sport of hockey in general and how it influences people. Back in 1980, the United States was in the middle of a bitter Cold War with Russia, formerly the USSR. Things were looking bleak and there was seemingly no end in sight for this war. The Soviet Red Army hockey team was not making things any better for the United States. It had won 4 straight gold medals from 1964-1976. There was seemingly no end in sight to this either. These men were built to play hockey, that was their job. Most of them had played together for the past 10-15 years. However, in 1979, a man named Herb Brooks took the reigns of the U.S.A. hockey team. He set out with an impossible goal to upset the Soviet Union in the Olympics in February. He had 6 months to put a team together from amateur college players to put on the ice against the formidable opponent of the USSR. Today is the 28th anniversary of this "Miracle". 28 years ago, on February 22, 1980, Captain Mike Eruzione scored the 4th goal for the United States to take the lead from the Russians with 10 minutes to play. After a ferocious finish, the United States was able to hold on and were victorious. This was much much more than just a hockey game. This was something the USA needed. This was a morale booster in the bleak days of the Cold War. Arguably the greatest upset and greatest sporting moment in the 20th century, the Miracle on Ice became a rallying point for Americans and, looking back, a heck of a hockey game.

I saw him the day after he got his trick in his GR home debut. He didnt look bad when I saw him, he got in a fight, and the crowd was really good in giving him ovations, but the game I went to, he didnt factor in the scoring at all. last I checked, he has 4 goals and 3 assists in 6 games

if we have a shot to get a proven star on our team while giving up a player or two who arent proven yet, you would be nuts not to make a deal like this. We most likely will have the cap room to get him and Z signed to long term deals, and with the departure of said young players, that space can be used this deadline as well for some depth D-men. get this deal done and a depth D-men, plus getting Lids, Raffy, and Kronner back will be quality acquisitions in themselves, Plus Cleary will be back come playoff time, we will have a healthy roster to work with in the playoffs (knock on wood) If we add some guys now who can get this team to the playoffs and get back the guys who are hurt, we have a real quality shot at the cup. Make it happen Kenny!

he wont be playing Saturday with the wings, he needs to get into game shape, the wings are going to sign him and keep him in GR for a 2 week conditioning stint

we dont have to worry about pav for a while, seeing as he signed a 7 year deal last year
-
he got another goal and assist tonight in a 5-4 victory, he has 7 points in 6 games with the Griffs
-
he probably got hooked on it when he was in the AHL with all the americans and north americans on the team they probably got him into facebook

3 roster players for hossa? hm, we will have to get somebody up from Grand Rapids... **wavy dreamlike sequence**
