You brought up a good point. BUT on a different note the whole Radulov situation makes no sense to me at all. He obviously has some talent and that would have been his contract year. Considering how much money some players made this year he could have gotten pretty good money. I heard that Salavat offered him around $3mil and since taxes in Russia are not even comparable to US - that is pretty much the salary he gets. What if Feds has 90 points this season playing with OV, which can totally happen, than everybody says it's a steal at $4 mil and all sudden everybody will want him back to Detroit! I'm still smiling when I think how many people here said Datsyuk at $6.7 too much money for so long. Realistically it's a steal comparing what Briere, Gomez, Drury and some other players are getting.

I think 4 mil is the price that market dictates. Who would you rather have for 4 mil: Fedorov or Naslund?

I think this would benefit both teams, including Malkin. PIT would get Cammaleri and second pick overall will probably be one of the top defencemans - exactly what they need. In addition to that I don't think Malkin would want to stay in PIT, just because he'll always be #2. LAK would get Malkin (one of the best players in the league), they already have a lot of good young players on the team and drafted. In addition to that they have another first round 28th overall pick; in the second round they have 32, 48 and 61st pick; in the 3rd round: 63, 81, 88 So they are in a good shape and player of such a caliber would be very good for LAK.

For some reason I think Malkin won't stay. He'll be #1 star on any other team, but at Pit, he'll always be overshadowed by Crosby, even if he is better. I think after he understands it - he'll go.

Well, I kind of have to disagree. I still tend to think that this whole captaincy was given because of the hype, not because of his abilities. If you ask me, I'd pick Ovechkin any day over Crosby. It's interesting, there are people who loves Crosby and who hates him, but I never really heard that somebody hates Ovechkin, there's probably a good reason for that!
