I'd prefer to see a victory than Downey throwing down with someone. We need a spark not a goon. Leino/Abdelkader please.

Downey consistently hurts any squad he's with. I never liked Avery when he wore the Winged wheel and like Downey even less. Every game I see him in its about fighting and sending a message instead of playing hockey. We have way too much talent both here and in the farm systems to ever see his crap again. I want to see some more cups hoisted and I think he's a detriment to whatever team he's on. Suspend him? Good riddance.

I understand loyalty and veteran leadership but Maltby, McCarty and Chelios shouldn't even be talked about on this roster. We are to the point now where we are coddling older veterans because its the right thing to do rather than playing the best young talent to give us a winning shot. I understand the cap kept many of these young guys down all year but its time to bring some of them up and give ourselves a chance. The team looked much stronger with Helm and Leino, nice to see some young guns with some jump in their game. We need some of that jump when we start playing for the cup. I also understand Downey is a fan favorite and a fighter but I'm not impressed with our game when he is in the line-up. Everyone talks crap about Sammie but he usually comes up big when we need him...I'm just not sure what to think of Cleary, take him or leave him.

Living in enemy territory I'm blocked from the normal Wings broadcast and suffering through the Avalanche hacks, dudes are terrible homers. Auuugghh

Really good to see the infusion of the young guns into the line-up lately. I find myself hoping Chelios, Maltby etc get scratched so I can watch Abdelkader, Leino (and evntually Erikson). If we can sign Hossa before the play-offs long term I think it'll give us a really nice upbeat attitude. Plus if we can keep these young kids going and give them all some more experience I like our chances alot. GO Wings!!!

I think we need to make the moves that make us a better team irregardless of draft picks. We have so much talent now half the guys will never see the ice wearing the Winged wheel. I can live with losing some picks so long as we get the right guys and get the cap situation sorted out for the next few years. Frazen and Filpula seem like the two odd guys out to me. I love Mule but Hossa, Datsyuk and Zetterberg long term is a dream come true, plug any of the remaining average guys around them and we'll be fine.

With our economy in 10-12 years $6 Mill will be chump change relative to the cap. All I'm saying is tie them all up long term and I'm happy.

My bottom line is I want to watch hossa, Datsyuk and Zetterberg for the next 10-12 years, they can plug whoever else in around those guys and I'll be happy every year.

I was at the game tonight and 4 octopi made it to the ice!!!! Dude in front of me had one tied to his crotch and could relieve himself of beer for two periods. the Wings presence was definitely felt both nights, we owned their house.

I just got back from the Pepsi center and the game four sweep. We had a very very strong Wings presence at both games. Tonight I was almost embarassed for the Avs as most of the Wings got tired of standing up cheering for all the goals. We had some good Wings chants, some Ozzie chants and 4 Octopi on the ice tonight. Most of the Avs fans were in amazement with the speed of our team and the puck possession we had. We all had a celebration in their house tonight and I'm hoping you guys keep the energy going when Dallas comes to town.
