This has to be the most idiotic GM in my lifetime. Really, who would join the Islanders at this point unless you were fresh out of college or been playing in the minors. IMHO, the guy made a fool out of his club and state. Did he call and ask if he'd be interested? NO. Why would a team that has no hope in hell of making the playoffs want an old goaltender that wouldn't give a rats ass even if he did play for them. This guy needs to go back to the minors or get a managers job at a gas station. I'm so embarrassed for the Islanders players and coaches it isn't funny. Maybe if they were in the same conference and playing defense I would get it.

I agree. I think they are going to have to battle it out. Howard let a real soft goal in last game right over the shoulder. He was also out of position for the better part of the third period.

Not to be the guy who disagrees but it was his second offense and in the new players union agreement 8 days is mandatory, or at least the money. It was a dirty hit and it was retaliatory and seabrook never touched the puck. If it was Lindstrom you would all be calling it fair. I can't wait for the rules next year.

It's Babcock he has no idea how to play with the lead as we have seen all season. The best defense is to have the puck and continue to play offensive but still pinch a little with the D. I went and layed down after the refs didn't call interference on Dats. So obvious the bias on the refs part. Think of all the money that would have been lost if the series ended last night. Seriously have the pens ever gone that long in a game without committing a penalty? Why are all the calls against us coming from center ice? Did that guy have money on the game. It is just a crime to call things so lopsided. Interference was called on Ericson in a previous game but the refs missed all of them in this game. Hank was interfered with 3 times on one shift. Hard to get to the net when you a pinned without the puck. Hossa can be tackled and they won't call it. sigh Oh well the fans won't stand for it at the Joe and I'll be able to party on friday when we win.

Sorry it was bad coaching. Don't just chip the puck in when you have both of their def in our zone. If the coach didn't tell them to do that then why would they. I thought the wings played a great game till someone told them to stop. Columbus would have lost to us if they played that way! The NHL is not static it is always changing. We played to our weakness DEFENSE. Two more goals and the fans would have been happy and the players confidence been revived. BAD COACHING that is comimg from a pee wee coach folks.

If the coach scews the goalie I blame the coach. We had Kips dead tired and didn't take advantage. Babcock lost the game not Conklin. Conklin played great and if you would have had Osgood in net it would have been a blow out. Babcock is a fool! Stop listening to the def coach and be the COACH
