Okay, 3pm it is. Rivalred made the reservations. Please PM me if you're going to go. I'd like a list of who plans to be there, and what time you can show up. I'll also give you my cell phone # for coordination. (SWF, Vladdy16, Matt & Liz don't need to PM me, since I know your plans and your numbers).

OMG, if I could just get you drunk enough to sing "Thank God I'm a Country Boy" on video... that would have to be one of the best blackmail tapes EVER! LOL (BTW, I don't recognize half of the songs you mentioned. "Grandma's Feather Bed" sounds a little creepy, IMO.) "Lady" takes me back to middle school dances (ROFL!) Of course, that also makes me think of Will Sasso's imitation of Kenny Rogers on "Mad TV", and that makes the thought of that song much funnier. Ok, back to topic... Kira, do you have an idea when next year's training camp will be?

I'd definitely be into a road trip up north, when the weather is good. Like Vladdy16, I'm not a camper, either. She and I would have to get our own hotel. (although if she's gonna sing "Rocky Mountain High", I'm not sharing a room with her).

Let's assume Mr. Muse is a "no" and we can sneak him in if he's up to it. I have a hunch he'll be having to cram to get his research project done that weekend.

Muse is in for sure. Mr. Muse is tentative. I probably won't know until Sunday morning. It depends on his homework load.

Hey - I just checked the game schedule Matt posted on the front page of LGW. It says the game on April 2 is at 2:00pm. Is that correct? If so, we need to meet earlier! I'd be one to vote for *not* posting all of this in the water cooler, BTW. We don't want an extra 10 or 20 people showing up when we already have a reservation for a set number. Plus, this is precisely what this forum is for - group events. No need to muck up the site with the same info in multiple places. Let's keep the info in here, and use PMs to confirm.

    Lions sticking with Harrington

Hey, I heard that the Lions are gonna sign a kid from Walled Lake Middle School at QB. He and Joey are gonna duke it out with the others for the starting position. /end snark

    SI Trade proposal

ROFLMAOPIMP! I just popped into this thread to say that I can't believe anyone would even discuss anything SI would say about hockey. This is the best giggle I've had all day, and I've had a few!

Champps Troy is a great place to go. For future events, Champps West Bloomfield/Farmington Hills isn't a great idea for a larger group. It's much smaller than the Troy restaurant. I went there for dinner - the food was great! One nice thing I noticed. On Red Wings game nights, Champps always has $2 Molson Canadian. Nice. I'm planning on having a couple on April 2!

I agree. We had a group of us together at the Troy Champps last month, and it was nice. The place was big, the service was decent, the tvs are huge. It's not as loud as Mr. B's and less smoky, so it might be a good first place to meet. If people want to go out after the game, we could always go to another place. The bar-hopping LGW crowd.

OMG you have no idea how funny that statement is. Yes, he's a Spartan, and I've teased him many times that he needs to learn to drink much more in order to "fit in". He is not a typical Spartan in that regard. Timothy, why would we want to do something *besides* drink & watch the game???? I've never been to the spectadium. If it's not too far N or E I'm willing, as long as the food is good, the TVs are big, and it's not too smoky.

Reservations: I'm hoping that if we have a group of more than 8, they'll hold a table for us. With it being the middle of a Sunday afternoon, I'm guessing getting a table won't be a problem anyway. I can't guarantee Mr. Muse will be more rested. He will be mostly done with his semester, done with several major concerts, so he might be a bit more perky than he was last time. Banking points: um, yeah. I'll go to the gym. BTW, even with our pigout & drinking a couple of bottles of wine last week, I still lost 2.5 pounds by the weekend. Cool. (Muse says this while eating some pita chips, which will likely help her gain the 2.5 pounds back). You can always bring Planny with ya. Tell him he gets to hang out with the "crazy lady" again. MSUdoubleJ19: you name the weekend. Many of us are always here - pick the date and let us know! I dunno if I can keep up with you and your belligerent drinking, though.

April 2, meeting at 2:30pm at Champps in Troy (click for map). Right now, count me and Mr. Muse in. I'll let you know if one or both of us has to work. So far, the count is: RivalRed Timothy1997 Dallas27 SWF Hockey Matters Muse Mr. Muse Who else is in? We'll need to make a reservation to get a large table with a good screen view that we can camp out at.

That will probably work for me (I may not know my work schedule for sure until a couple weeks ahead, but my guess is that it'll be ok). I would say let's get there an hour before the game. If we do Champps (Big Beaver just off of I-75) then we don't want to get there too early. While they have huge TVs, they run the place more like a "real" restaurant than just a sports bar. If we meet by 2:30, we should be good to stay for a few hours as long as we tip well! SWF, you're still in town at that point, right?

Mine is an unsure as of right now. all depends on when this is... cause if my boyfriend is in town I cant.... You can bring him along..... Do not let him run your life... Maybe she's saying that she'd rather hang out with him when he's in town. So, are we talking about a game soon after the Olympic break is over?

As long as they don't run out of wine. BTW, Starry Night is $24.95 a bottle at Nino Salvaggio's. It's the only place I've seen it so far.

Count me in if I'm not working on gamenight. Mr. Bs is always good. Another thought - a group of us met up at Champps (there are several around the metro area), and they have huge TVs. The Champps restaurants are really big, so geting a larger table isn't a problem We went to the one in Troy on Big Beaver, just off of I-75. There is another nice one at the Orchard Lake/14 Mile/Northwestern Highway intersection. I know that's one that Drapes hangs out at (though I would doubt we'd see him there on a game night LOL).

dunno when Manny's scheduled to be back. I'm guessing it'll be at least another week. I haven't heard that he's practicing yet. So, what's the point of this thread?

    Detroit Lions

ROFL! Yeah, that's something the Lions have perfected, especially this year. It astonishes me how creative they can be. So often, they find the most innovative ways to lose, especially in the big nationally televised games. (P.S. Mariucci was quite a scapegoat. His firing doesn't help the team a bit, nor does it save Millen any face. I think the Lions are gonna have a very difficult time getting decent players OR a decent coach to take on this little project, particularly under Millen's poor leadership.)
