Get hundreds of Finnish people, people that at least claim to be relatives (I suppose those could be fake too), and a bunch of random Red Wings minor leaguers (like Himelfarb) to be friends with you and I just might believe your "Flip" profile too. No one is saying it was definitely him. Just that it's very possible. If it's a prank, it's a great one and I'd love to buy a beer for the person pulling it off. I would've left the status up there and screwed with people some more. If it's fake, what he did is much more...authentic? in appearance. Very well done....

Sorry, I'm just annoyed at the number of people out there immediately writing this off and calling those of us that kind of believe it might be true idiots for thinking so. Thought you were in that mix. I don't think anyone is saying OMG it's the real Flip, it's TRUE! But I do think there are enough indicators that it could be his real profile that it's worth kind of getting excited about. Especially on an otherwise boring Tuesday night

Hossa has had back to back 90 point seasons. Ya gotta give something to get something. We weren't getting him for just Flip, especially in light of the comments that ATL still wants to win now. The thing I'd miss most is referring to Hudler as Rex. Both guys have potential, but Hossa is gross and he's still pretty young. Wouldn't shock me a bit if the trade were to be something like Rex, Flip, midlevel prospect, pick if he resigns with us. And it would be worth it. Hossa is the kind of guy that will make the rest of the league go "Oh ****" if we get him. Same as it was when we got Dom back in 2002. I really like Flip, but if we can get Hossa, you gotta make that deal.

Yup, it's definitely gone. Though I think there's an option that lets you disable your profile and hide it from searches (maybe?). As of right now his profile is as invisible as he's been on the ice for the last month and a half Gotta say, if we moved Flip and Hudler for Hossa, I'm still pretty damn happy as long as we lock him up.

That's what I'm saying. I'm not convinced it's really him, but if this is a prank, the guy is playing it absolutely perfectly. I'd be curious to know what his other updates and status changes have been like. Someone should just be like "Flip! I want to get your jersey! Should I get a Wings one or a Thrashers one? Don't make me waste my money!"

I'm just saying the execution wasn't there. It would've been a whole lot funnier if you wouldn't have posted 13 times about how you were going to do it. Should've just made it, not said anything about it, posted the photo and it would've been hilarious. That said, I think it's plausible that this is true. Normally I'd be 100% skeptical, but that profile is realistic enough that it could be his. Or it's a helluva fake and whoever made it deserves a job well done. Also, if it was a fake profile and fake-Flip was just effing with people, why would he pull down that status update? Wouldn't it make more sense to leave it up so more people could notice and get sucked in? It makes more sense that he was like "s***, I probably shouldn't have said that" and took it down. It's either his or it's a fake and the guy is absolutely playing it to perfection.

There's also a Jim Howard profile with a fairly candid shot of him and a profile for Liv which looks like it has a webcam photo. He's also friends with Rocco Grimaldi, which is kind of funny since Michigan is recruiting him. But you'd think a kid playing for Little Caesars would know if he's friends with the real Val Filppula, no? These Finnish names are fun. There's a girl named Ea Ek.

The thing that makes me think it *might* be real is the guy claiming to be Flip has like 600+ friends and a lot of them are Finnish. Not that the fake Flip couldn't add a bunch of people I guess. It'd be pretty funny if facebook is the way this broke. It would be kind of weird to have a fake Filppula account, add 667 people, and break a fake trade to a plausible location. Then again, people are weird....

I was trying to read Babcock's lips but I couldn't make anything out beyond "f*** you" and "What'd you say?" I could swear he said something like "Don't talk about my mama" but I don't think that was it.... Babcock could take any coach in this league. Did you see the look on his face? I sure wouldn't f*** with him. I would love to see this team in the playoffs. We'd beat their ass and the rivalry would be back on. I wonder if Mac is watching this saying "I WANT IN!"

Nothing like playing the Avs to get over a slump. God that team is bad right now. I really wish I could find a photo of Selanne and Kariya in Avs jerseys because an "Epic Fail" picture would be fitting right now.
