I think they'd just refund the credit card you purchased it on. Stubhub's Fan Guarantee is pretty in-depth (they'll even refund your money if you end up with phony tickets somehow). I'd feel pretty good about buying tickets through them. I'd be wary of ebay though, since I'm not really sure how it works. I imagine you'd be able to get a refund if the game isn't played, but I wouldn't bet $500+ on it....

I'm pretty sure stubhub has a fan guarantee where if the game doesn't happen, you don't get charged. Now, if you pay above face on ebay, that could be a little more hairy. Not sure how that works...

They aren't taking Stuart out to play a rookie with 8 NHL games to his credit. Ericsson was impressive when he was in there, but the regular season is just a wee bit different than Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals. The good news is that Stuart sucked tonight, so that means he'll be good in Game 6. Just watch out if it goes 7. That's a schizo player right there....

Stuart was HORRIBLE tonight. He's so weird. Some games he's good as hell and some games I cringe every time I see #23 on the ice. I'd have to watch it again, but on Pitt's second goal, I want to say Kronwall was going to go help Franzen in the corner but he had to cover the front of the net instead because Stuart had another one of his LEEEEROY JENKINGS hits where he goes flying out of the picture for no reason.... Lotsa guys could've played better tonight and we still dominated that game. I really don't see that team beating us two more times in a row. It's obviously closer than we'd like it to be, but I still think we're just fine.

Read on another forum that this is the latest a team has scored a tying goal to avoid elimination. Don't know if it's accurate. Helluva game tonight. It's a massive case of blue balls to be that close to winning it all and have it not happen, but a great, great hockey game nonetheless. We'll get em in six. I still can't believe Sammy shot that puck wide by 30 feet....you almost have to try to miss that badly. Ah well, they scored as many tonight as they had the rest of the series combined. Ozzie will put up the wall in Game 6.

Heh. I guess the Helm/Draper comparison is an accurate one....

Did I just hear Pierre Macguire say "Usually Malkin is patrolling the back end"?

1. Nominee, yes. Winner, yes. 2. No. He could get 30, but 40 is a ton of goals...He's a legit player and a legit scorer, but he's not going to stay this hot forever. 3. 50 goals? No. 100 points? Yes, Datsyuk 4. Yes, Ericsson 5. Yes and yes. 6. Points: Flip. Goals: Hudler 7. Helm 8. No. 9. No. 10. 56, 4

Getting ready to put a big pot of Cheli's Chili on to eat during the game tonight. (Thanks for the recipe Zion. I'm excited to try it) GO WINGS!!!!! I can't friggin' believe we're one win away from celebrating again.
-
Cheli's is awesome. I'd definitely hit that up. I'm not a fan of Hockeytown Cafe at all. It's a pretty cool building, but the food was kind of blah and way overpriced (at least when I was there a few years ago). The Little Caesar's pizza at the Joe is AMAZING. Have fun dude! That's really awesome that you're going! Drive safe!

NBC's Powerplay Angle From The Blueline Is Horrible
Packer487 replied to Daniel Chosen's topic in General
I don't get the attraction of camera angles where the action is heading away from the view. I like the behind the net one. You can see the team set the play up but you can also see the net. Networks seem to be in love with angles like that though. At least it's not as bad as the shot Vs was using during the shootout competition. Or ABC/ESPN's stupid camera-on-a-track that they use for the NBA. -
Cool. Completely crack down on obstruction and retroactively award us the 1995 and 2007 Stanley Cups. And we'd still win this series.
-
Wow is right.... I don't know what MAF was thinking there anyway. Even if it hits the glass, wouldn't it have just come right back out in front of the net in all likelihood? I love when that guy handles the puck. 1 more boys! I can't believe we're this close to another Cup. Crosby is such a *****.

The organized team activities the Packers have going on? I think a couple of them were/are open to the public. That's probably why I like it so much in Madison. And no cheap shot at a Gopher player is unwarranted. Are all Goofer fans as thin-skinned as you? I didn't say anything that bad and I certainly didn't dare insult the coaching abilities of The Don. If he's looking to have a spot gifted to him, then I'd probably agree. But I'd be thrilled to allow someone like Wheeler the chance to earn a spot and get into the mix. I think he's going to be a solid player at worst (with a chance to be really good) but I've been wrong before....
-
As far as sports in Wisconsin go, yup! (Not to get this too much further off topic, but you going to any of the OTAs?)
-
That and I'm not a Wisconsin fan anyway
-
Agreed. If he's looking for a better situation for himself, then I don't fault him one bit. It would be years before he'd normally have a chance to be a UFA. He won't make more money with this move (and chances are, he'll make less) but there's something to be said for getting to pick whatever team you want to go to. I'd be tempted to do the same if I was in his situation.
-
That's me! Wisconsin fan #1! I worship the ground Robbie Earl dives on. All this because I didn't take a shot at your coach while discussing a player from your team that I actually like and would want the Wings to sign.....
-
Fine, I retract that statement. Instead, I'll conclude the previous post by saying "Take a fricken pill. I bet Nate Hagemo could hook you up with some good s***." That work better for ya?
-
Hey, they needed centers. I didn't say there was anything wrong with the move. With the defections (RyPo, Kessel, Okposo) and injuries (Stoa and Carman) it's not hard to figure out why they had him playing center the last couple years. But that's also not his natural position. Take a fricken pill. At least he didn't go flinging himself into the net after a game....
-
I just like the idea of signing him because we don't really have a guy like him in our system. I would agree that if he is completely anti-AHL then the Red Wings aren't the organization for him to go to, but it's hard to imagine that there's another team that could give him a better combo of playing time + money than the team he just turned down. So maybe immediate PT isn't what he's after?? Kopecky would be ahead of him (at least initially) having paid his dues and gotten some experience, but he really seemed like "just a guy" to me for most of the season. He was ok... Wheeler clearly has much more potential (though potential is all it is and it remains to be seen if he'll even be as decent of a player as Kopecky in the NHL). I love Helm--he's been really impressive in the playoffs. You'd never know it that he's a rookie--and one that had a whole seven games to his credit before the postseason. He's gotta be on the roster next year. Abdelkader definitely warrants a look as well. So there might not be room for Wheeler, but young guys with that much talent don't become available all that often. Maybe the circumstances don't work out that we can sign him and commit that much money to him, but I think he'll end up being a fine player for somebody.
-
He's an absolute monster. Maybe underachieved somewhat this year, but I think the Goofers had him playing center for a lot of the season and he's probably better off as a wing. I came to start this thread earlier today and couldn't get to the site. I'd love to see him in a Wings jersey, even though I typically hate everyone and everything having to do with the University of Minnesota. It's not every day that you can pick up a kid with his talent for no picks and no players.
-
Before the game, when they said that Milbury had the solution to Pittsburgh's problems, I was thinking to myself "He's probably going to say 'I would trade Crosby for the #2 pick in the draft.'" Because that's kind of how he rolled as GM.

Chris Chelios interview: I'm OK not getting playing time
Packer487 replied to 10 Minute Misconduct's topic in General
You're talking to a Blues fan. Can't blame him for not understanding that... -
Sucks that a game like that comes down to penalty kicks. I'm pretty sure I'd snap if the NHL ever decided to implement the shootout during the playoffs. I realize the guys were cramping and that they don't allow for much subbing in soccer, but there has to be a better way to do it than having the championship come down to a glorified guessing game. Exciting as all hell, but does it really mean that ManU was better than Chelsea just because their goalie guessed correctly more often? Two suggestions: 1) Take a few players off the field for overtime. Play 8 on 8 or something. It would open things up, let the best players do their thing, decrease the chances that a lesser team could play to get to PKs, create some amazing transition opportunities, etc. I bet you'd see a winner more often than not, and the format would be more in line with the game itself than resorting to PKs. 2) If you absolutely HAVE to go to PKs (my first preference would be continuous overtime...eventually someone would screw up), back the players up 10 feet (or even more). It would give the goalie a split-second longer to react and I feel that it would increase the amount of skill necessary to succeed in a PK. The best goalies would actually have an impact and the best shooters would increase in value because you'd have to be much more precise. In the shootout today, out of 14 shots there were a total of two saves. On most of those shots the goalie dove to the wrong side of the net. I feel like if you put an average collegiate soccer player against the best goalie in the world, he'd still score more often than not. That shouldn't happen when the championship is on the line. At least the Hooligans from Eurotrip are happy. If you're not a Manc, you're a ****!
