There are several factors for the non-sellout nights at the Joe. The economy is a factor, but history has shown that entertainment is one area that people continue to spend their money on, even when times are tough. The biggest factor is the one that seems to be overlooked the most. Maybe it is because people think the fans have gotten over it or that they think there are bigger reasons, but i think the full result of the lockout is finally begining to be felt. There wasn't a group of fans that were affected in a more negative way or had more to lose than those of the Red Wings. Frankly, the NHL should be thankful for every wings fan that still attends the games.

Cold War II/Red Wings vs. Leafs Doubleheader !?!?!

I was so excited to hear about this, but i'm a little dissapointed to find out they are planning for it to take place at Ford Field. I would still go for sure, but it would be much more special if it took place outdoors. -
Looks like Dandenault wants another thread starting saying how gritty he is!

Nice to see Lidstrom save that potential 2nd goal after his play led to the first one.

I wear my McCarty jersey everytime that i go to an opposing team's arena. It is alot of fun in Chicago because there is always lots of wings' fans to balance out the home fans. No one messed with me in Chicago. I was told in Boston that our jerseys looked like tampons.

I like Cherry, but he was driving me crazy with the comments he was making last night. Sideshow Bob has been playing the same style as Sean before Avery was even in the league. Avery is just more effective at it.

I think you misspelled Samuelsson. Don't worry, i get confused too when names start with the same letter.

Schneider was talking about Babcock not having confidence in him during a shootout, not the amount of confidence he had in him overall. We had too many other guys ahead of him to put him in a shootout. He didn't really say anything that bad.

Beat me to it. Well played sir.

I was wondering if they were going to have photo's available of the players. Congratulations on the Drake photo.

Thanks for sharing. Sounds like you had a nice time. What items did you get signed?

Did anyone get a chance to make it over to Hockeytown Authentics tonight?

I just want to make sure i heard him correctly. Did anyone else hear Don Cherry say that he likes Robert Lang, and that he has always liked Robert Lang?

I think spelling is about as important as meaningful, intelligent posts. It doesn't seem like either are very important to you.

Was it just me or did i see Thornton slash Datsyuk on that last faceoff. If he did, it didnt seem to do any damage, but none of our skill guys should have even been on the ice at the end of a game that was in the bag. Especialy after Thornton just got nailed in the face.

Because he has alot more protection with it on than the guy who just took his off. I didn't see the fight until after the shark player's helmet was off, but if he took it off himself than Downey should have also done it. Everyday i am reminded of how much i hate the new jerseys. GOAL!

I can't believe that some of you are making jokes at a time like this! It was a very seroius procedure and you should all feel ashamed of yourselves. I have obtained what i believe could very well be Gary's pre-surgery photos. It became apparent that profesional help was needed when Gary was heard muttering about replacing player helmets with plastic bags inorder to make them .09% faster. No word yet on if the dislodging was succesful.

No problem, I was just wanting to point it out. As the saying goes, don't let a little thing like facts get in the way of a good story.

That is a New Jersey player that grabbed Shanny. Linesmen don't have red cuffs on the end of their sleeves.

The first thing my girlfriend said when she saw the players wearing the new jerseys was, "they look so feminine." I busted out laughing as i had benn dreading the news since i first heard they were going to switch. I wonder when teams, like the ducks and the wings, who are not in the meigray system will make the switch since they are not bound by the same dates.

You could tell something was going on in the 3rd as everyone in front of the camera stood up and look to their right. I figured there must have been a fight, but FSN didn't show anything.

I've looked around, but haven't been able to find anything that reports this.

He was one of my favorite players. It's a little sad to hear, but i think most people saw this coming after his injury last season. The guy was warrior who was willing to do whatever it took to help his team. He played with his heart on his sleeve and the fans loved him for that. He was one of the most entertaining part of ESPN's "The Season" with the Avalanche. I wish him all the best in the future.

I would be very happy if Mccarty came back, especialy if we had no other fighter on the team. As much as it pains me to say it, the truth is that he should run as far away from the wings as he can. Being the main physical force on a team is just no longer a role his body can take. He is more suited to being one of many tough players on a team. His first year in Calgary really suited him well as he was surrounded by a legit fighter in Simon and other players who were at least willing to stand up for one another. He was great for so many years, but playing as pysical as he did would take a toll on anyone. The heart may be willing, but the flesh is weak.
