Supposedly Sammy would claim injury if the Wings try to buy him out. Not sure about Alfie and really not sure why the Wings didn't try to keep Brunner on this team.

I would have prefered if the Wings used that money on Brunner instead of Alfie. Alfie is good, but I would rather have a younger faster player then him at this point. -
Well, he still has one more year on his contract at $3M. They might as well keep him until the next trade deadline and see what they can get. Crosby's wingers are not getting any younger, Kunitz 33 Dupuis 34, as well so they are going to need someone to play with him.

The only thing I dont like is that he played in a lockout season. Last time there was a lockout and the league started up again, some players looked better than they really are. I just hope his year wont be like that and next year he will continue to grow if we do re-sign him.

Yes...yes I would. The lack of consistency needs to be address in the top 6. Z and D are not gonna be moved... so might as well supply them with wingers that can play with some effort and consistency. Be it the replacements are our own young players or they came via a trade. Flip, Mule, Bert, and Sammy (even though he didn't play much this season) are all expendable.

Another slow start and we are lucky to be down just 1. -
Dude has the most potential to take over Datsyuks role in the future. In 3 years I think this kid can become a good offensive threat, in about 4 or 5 a complete player once he gets use to playing against the top players. Next year teams are going to pay attention to him so it will be a little harder. Happy to have you on the team Nyquist.

And we lost any momentum at the end of it. I understand the Wings like the puck possession style, but we need to start being simple when clearing the zone. Just flip it out and stop trying to skate it out with Hawk players hounding the puck carrier. More traffic in front the net would help as well. There are some juicy rebounds to be had. -
I wasn't expecting Helm to come back till next season anyway. Back injuries are no joke, take your time Helm, see you next year.

In a way I feel for the Nucks. The Wings had to put up with this crap for two years straight going against SJ in the playoffs. But in another way it's like the Nucks got a taste of their own medicine.

We need a #1 defensman as well. Kronwall is a good #2 but he is not a true #1 guy, and by #1 I mean a franchise defensman. Nice to have a goalie that can help the team win. Now if only the rest of the players would want to win like Jimmy all would be good. -

Stupid Flames couldn't hold the lead. Also the stupid Ducks couldn't win either. No bueno -
We really need this win tonight. Sitting in the 7th spot with St. Louis having 1 point less than us and playing two games less..OUCH!!! Not to mention teams 9-12 have a damn good chance to catch up to us. So for tonight, LET'S GO BLUES, LET'S GO DUCKS, and LET'S GO FLAMES!!
