I would've cried like a little baby at the end of the game if I was one of those players.
-
If it wasn't for Luongo this game would've been over in the first 10 minutes. Nice effort Wings... a few weak plays on the goals scored on us but besides that good effort.
-
Yeah, I thought Burrows and Kesler had some jets on them. Wasn't it one of those guys that was able to hang with Helm on the back check one game? Also just like the Wings when you can connect passes while someone is in full stride it speeds up your team.

Punishment for throwing octupus on the road

My friend did it in Colorado but at the end of the game. The only thing that happened to him was he got a stern look at by the aisle guy. -
The SuperSkills competition is an embarrassment
dragonballgtz replied to wingsdiehard13's topic in General
I thought at first Chara hit 110mph just by the way it looked. The difference in look from Alfredsson's 101mph shot to Chara's 108.8 was surprisingly very noticeable. The puck looked liked it just instantly transported to the net. Besides the hardest shot everything else was meh to me. That's another thing that gets me frustrated with the skills competition. It seems like in more recent years that players with reputations for being the fastest players in the league don't take part in the fastest skater competition. I would've loved to see Gaborik do a lap in that competition. And players with know slick moves don't take part in the shootout. I want to see the fastest players skate and the sickest puck handlers dangle dangle. -
The SuperSkills competition is an embarrassment

I didn't watch the NBC feed just the CBC feed. I really hated how they switched up the fastest skater part again this year. Leave it as a single lap and please put the fastest people out on the ice. -
Just looking at their GA I would think they would try and beef up their back end any way possible. With them giving up someone like Morrow I think they would try and address most if not all of their needs. Now giving up a prospect/pick, a roster player and a defenseman is a lot... so one of them would be the big piece while the others would degrade in "value". If Ericsson was playing better I honestly think the Red Wings would depart with Stuart if the rumors about him already making up his mind to move back West were true. Stuart would be the main piece we give up but that would, I think, lower what we would give them in another department. /tinfoil hat

If they get rid of Morrow I would guess that means they want to get younger. So I would say one of our NHL ready prospects along with a defensman and a pick.

One more year @ $4.1M. The issue is that a lot of teams would be interested in his services so that might start a bidding war that might get a little to high.
-
Kronwall has let people go right by him as well tonight

Hey Howard stopped the shot, it's up to the defense (Kindl) to clear the puck. Howard is not to blame here the Canadiens are just making our defense look like a minor leaguers. Just pure dominance on the Canadiens part.

On that last MTL rush it looked painful when he tried to turn around and skate back. Just no agility and jump in his step.
-
Dear god what is it with our road play
-
I didn't watch the game live just the highlights on NHL.com but it looked like Howard saved our bacon again. The Blues could've been easily up 3 to 0 in the first if it wasn't for Howard making great saves.

TEXT CAP HIT BREAKDOWN (for copying and pasting) Scott Gomez buyout from CapGeek.com 2012-13: $3,523,810 cap hit 2013-14: $4,523,810 cap hit 2014-15: $1,666,667 cap hit 2015-16: $1,666,667 cap hit And you only actually pay him $1.6M every year. Yes, I would do this.

First time I actually seen the hurry-up faceoff rule be enforced.
-
So they asked to see a sample of what the travel conditions would be like for next year, fair enough, but were basically told "you never get this"... pretty ******* stupid by the NHL if this is true. Also according to TSN the schedule maker had to make the schedule for next year already so it seems like it would be pretty easy to produce the requested information. Either way this just goes to show the complete and utter lack of communication, trust, and respect between the NHL and NHLPA.

2012 NHL Winter Classic GDT : New York Rangers at Philadelphia Flyers

I'm not sure about anyone else but it seems like the refs have orders to try to get this thing to OT. Nice to know that I wasn't the only one that thought this. -
And Quick has a better save percentage with more shots faced in fewer games and one more SO. Not Quick's fault his team cannot score to get the wins.
-
I think Quick might give Howie a run for his money on that.
-
Z might not be scoring like he use to but he is setting up Flip very nicely lately. Without a doubt the MVP for this team is Howard. Without him the Wings would fighting to stay the eighth spot IMO.

Claude Giroux out Indefinitely with Concussion

Add Skinner to the list of players with concussion. -
Simple answer IMO Our 3rd and 4th liners are not as good as we thought they were on the PK.

The Toronto media built him up and overrated him so much it was disgusting. I swear they treated him like he was a Norris worthy defenseman his last few years in Toronto.
