Besides Z and Datsyuk I will say the only other forwards that is consistent this season has been Helm. Cleary was doing good but since he got back from his injury he has been off. Our defense has been inconsistent all year round... it's hard to understand why this team just looks mediocre since that great start.

3/30 GDT: St. Louis Rams 10 at Detroit Lions 3
dragonballgtz replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
The players from the Yzerman/Bowman years had way more heart IMO than our current players. Our top players played as hard as our 3rd and 4th liners back then not now. During the course of the season there has been a lot of games in which our 4th liners have outplayed our top 6 which is pathetic. -
Bertuzzi Suspension Prediction/ No Suspension Per League
dragonballgtz replied to stevkrause's topic in General
I understand the game misconduct because I am sure the ref thought he hit him with his elbow seeing how fast the hit was and how high his arm went. Bert hit him with his tricep more than anything else but for him to swing his arm that high and leave his feet was stupid, especially considering how the league is looking at any head contact hit. It might get looked at and if anything does happen I think 2 games max. -
I disagree with the Flip and Mo line. Modano can give Flip the puck right on the tape when he is covered but Flip cannot give Mo the puck when he is covered. Usually Flips passes to him are in his skates and something I noticed (well IMO at least) is that Mo has a hard time while is in stride going skate to stick. Personally I would put Mo on a line with Z or Mule since they are more of a sniper which Mo can be the setup man. Mo has made some good "veteran plays" in the last few games that needed someone with a better finishing touch to work.

That hurt me just looking at it. I am sure the players around him heard a snap when he broke it.
-
Thank you Ron Wilson for putting Lebduh on the PP.
-
Modano needs a sniper on his line. His passes are right on the tape to Flip and Homer but they are not putting it in. Flip cannot seem to make good passes to Madano though.

I think we were outplayed the first two periods. We didn't win a lot of battles and had the one chance and out thing going. Howard still needs to work on his rebound control but at this point I think it is as good as it will get.

If we continue to play non full 60 minute games we will lose.

Like this board never done something like that before

Wings are playing regular season hockey while teams like the Preds are playing playoff hockey.

People started to hit back and now he is scared.

Whats your favorite "BAD" contract right now?
dragonballgtz replied to Rick Zombos Ghost's topic in General
Any contract that is over 1 million with the player in the minors. -
And... two people are going to be scratched now that we are healthy.
-
Who sits? I'm hoping that Babs has the gull to scratch Mule and Bert. I'll give Modano another game or two just because of the long break he had. As it is today at this point in time I wouldn't mind seeing Mule, Bert, Homer, or Miller sit.

You don't have to make them great but you have to make them good enough for you to score 70 points.

Four of those games according to NHL.com he played at least 18+ minutes, one 17 minute game, 2 16 minutes, 3 15 minute games, and 1 10 minute game. Interesting thing though is that within the last 5 games is when all those 18+ minute games have taken place so ice time is not an issue. Line mates like you said could be it. That bold part is why people think of him as an average 2nd liner great 3rd liner. He does not have the ability to bring it every game and produce even with the "wrong" line mates. I know he is no superstar like Datssyuk but players like that, even a tier below, can produce and make things happen even with bad line mates. Flip just isn't at that point in his career IMO. Skilled, yes. Can he compliment/complete a line, yes. Is he consistent enough and good enough to make his line mates better around him, no. Until he can do that he will be an average 2nd liner at best.
-
Your last sentience confuses me a little bit. So you are saying that people have an argument when it comes to his ability to sustain such a 2nd line+ point production. But when he is playing good or on a hot streak it is wrong for people to call him out for being what he is a great 3rd liner decent 2nd liner? I am honestly not sure what your last sentience is suppose to mean or what you meant by it. I'm not trying to get you angry but if you can clarify what you mean that would be excellent.

As I said his skill and hands haven't left him but you can tell that his back is not 100% and may never be 100% again. If his back was at 100% I think he would be doing better than he is. Sure he would have his scoring droughts just like any other player will in the league but I think we would see more speed and a wee bit more dominance out of him.
-
What made it worse for him was how the other guy embellished it a bit just by staying down on the ice. The fall to the ice looked worse than the actual hit.
-
Z's biggest strength is his ability to hold onto the puck with someone right on his back. Unfortunately that is a hard way to play the game and it's starting to creep up to him slowly but surely health wise. I don't think his hands are gone just that his back might be causing a lot more issues than we fans realize.

I missed the two previous games but in tonight's game Mo looked invisible. The same half-assed games I remember from the beginning of the season. So hopefully it was just tonight that it was even more apparent. Again since I missed the two previous games I thought the Cleary-Z-Bert line moved in the right direction. Moving Mule off that line seemed to give it a bit of a spark with Cleary on it. I just love the 4th line.... it will be hard to sit anyone on the 4th line once Eaves gets better. Maybe Mo gets put back into the scratch rotation.

Well the only good thing I can say about the Blues scoring is that the milf in the white behind Jimmy jumps up and down when they score.

A few great saves. Halak got the better of Helm on another chance.
