WOW cable and audio is also coming in poor. I thought my speakers were gonna blow when Kenny made the call on the Howard save. Also I think Draper was the one that outraced the icing, not Helm.

Zetteberg and Datsyuk no longer on the same line

I would break up the Ber-Z-Mule line. They haven't had anything going for them. Put Homer, Modano or even Helm with Z and Mule. -
Babcock speaks out (in a very good way)

I also get that impression as well but I think the cap also comes into play with having the luxury to allow other players a chance to play when others are struggling. Maybe it's just wishful thinking that Babs would sit players if not for the cap. -

The puck possession requires skill, which our players have, but also to be consistent with their efforts and have good hockey sense. Something which our players our lacking, IMO, compared to the mid 90s teams to the early 00s teams. I think everyone has noticed this season our passing has not been sharp as it usually is from the top players down. There are times I seen passes even on the break out that are in skates, behind or in front of players and that is a key part to the puck possession style. If passing is decent the puck possession style can work sometimes but not all the time. I guess that's just something we have to get use to in this cap era. -

Didn't we hear this speech last month as well from the players and coaching staff? They can turn it around for a game or two but after that bad habits come creeping in again and they are back to square one. -
Playoff spots don't seem really important now a days. It's what we do once we are in the playoffs that I am more worried about.
-
I am surprised we even won two games this road trip. The games we did win we were outworked in those as well for a good portion of those games.

When I seen PHX's 91 I thought it was Fedorov at first. Similar skating style but without the speed, damn near the same moves and posture.

I have no idea why Babs put him on the 4th line last night while Mule was getting top minutes.
-
The line combinations tonight were atrocious at best. Hudler on a line with Draper and Helm while Mule got time with Datsyuk. Abby-Homer-Mo have no chemistry along with the Cleary-Flip-Bert line. Mule needs to earn his ice time back not be spoon feed it. If Hudler had to earn his ice time back there is no reason why Mule shouldn't have to do the same. Bench him for a game and send a message.

For being ahead 3-1 we sure did get outplayed for most of that period. Good thing Quick isn't playing good tonight.

Link no more work -
Ericsson and another player. Anything the Wings do would have to be dollar for dollar. If you look at the defense our top 4 is basically untouchable. Sure Stuart and Kronwall don't have NTC's but given their price:performance ratio it would be dumb to move anyone one of them unless you get a young stud back. It would be really crappy of Detroit to trade Salie seeing as how he is bringing what we knew he would bring to the club. Which only leaves E and Kindl. Who ever would be chosen out of those two would be the one that RW management thinks won't develop the best. Personally I think that's E as he hit his prime last playoff season.

They both have another year on their respective contracts. So it would have to make sense for the team that trades for them to want them for next year as well. -
Seabrook extended for 5 years at $5.8 million per year
dragonballgtz replied to Drake_Marcus's topic in General
He moved to top six out of necessity. You are right as he might be able to get more but I said that price range because he does not have a history of being a legitimate top six guy. I know how you don't like the plus minus stat but for him having the lowest +/- on the team he doesn't seem that important defensively. -

Your right http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2010/10/todd_bertuzzi_will_play_tonigh.html He was paired with Lidstrom at the start of the season. And he was paired with Salie during the preseason but sucked so bad they moved him up with Lidstrom.

Brouwer can ask for at least $2.5 or $3M since he is on pace for another 20G season. Kopeckey is doing a little bit more scoring which might mean a raise for him somewhere around $1.5 - $1.8 tops. -
Ummm no. He was paired with Salie at the start.

During the length of this contract Kieth will still be making more money than Seabrook. His cap hit is just bigger because they didn't give him a long ass contract to lower the cap hit. EDIT: So does this mean that Kopecky and Brouwer are gone come next season? -
The only thing that still irks me about Modano is sometimes he gives up on the play to soon. Last night he had a chance to chase a puck down in the offensive zone but he headed toward the bench instead. Then you see Homer come in with his awesome Homer speed and fight for the puck in the corner and cause a turnover. Modano didn't even look tired as he and Homer started that same shift together but he just didn't want to go to the corner and fight for the puck. I think Babs needs to get on him about that.
-
I disagree with that statement. Ericsson had a very bad start and didn't get going until he was paired with Lidstrom. After that he got some confidence back and he started to be paired with Raf so E could focus on the defensive side without worrying about jumping into the play.
-
Way better than Mule.
-
Why the f*** is our defensmen playing like they can't skate. Stuart was caught flat footed on that last goal. Lidstrom came over to help out but that left Grier all alone.

Once they put in the effort to play 110% in the regular season consistently I will believe they can do it in the playoffs. Since out last SC yes we went back to the SCF but we lost it with an a 2-0 game advantage as well. 2010 damn near swept in the second round but they decided to show up for one game. Could we win it maybe but I am honestly not 100% certain that we can with how inconsistent we have been.
