I blame the Owners/GMs. If they don't like the asking price that a player has set they have the option to let them walk. Also because some GMs are just trying to meet the salary cap floor (greedy owners) they will pay more for a player in order to hit it. Which bumps up similar players price tag.

I thought he did as well but from his reaction I'm not sure.

Only for a very brief period (2 days) have I ever thought Eklund was a reliable source. It was either this past off season or last years trde deadline that he was the first to report a couple of things. A few days later he was back to writing some crazy ass s***.

There is a big difference between the 2002 team and this current one. You cannot really compare the two IMO.

Consistent? He is on a hot streak before that he was invisible.
-
he has a NTC so good luck getting him to waive that.

Didn't Fedorov only score about 26 goals that season? I only watched the first period and the last 3 minutes of the third but from what I saw they were just out worked. Z's line in the first had one good shift other than that they were in their own zone.

I just don't understand this. Why would any team want this guy? -

Coyotes' Upshall suspended 2 games for hit on Bartulis
dragonballgtz replied to commadore183's topic in General
It didn't seem to late to me. Even with the slight slow motion they had it was about 1 second if that from the time the goalie had complete control to the time of the hit. Upshall wanted position and he got it by clearing out the defender. This play is borderline IMO. -
Osgood's status could prompt trade at deadline

Trade for Al Montoya -
Did Bert call Pang Pierre? Also Hudler scored like that before in the SO.

Damn, the guy on youtube I go to see it doesn't upload anymore. I'm a sad panda. EDIT: I guess CBC got rid of the Canada only thing. I can watch it on their webpage now.

As soon as I looked at that I said "that's freaky", nice to know I am not the only one that thought that.

No matter what I think Kaberle is overrated. Just because he was the only decent Leafs player his value was hyped. He reminds me of Raf in a way, good on the PP but meh defensively.

Don't we already have a Hudler thread? -

Holy overpayment Batman!!! So if you add everything up Boston got/gets: Toronto's '10 and '11 1st round pick Toronto's 2nd round 2010 selection Kaberle Toronto got/gets: Kessel Colborne Boston's 2011 first round pick Conditional pick (2nd rounder if he re-signs or cup final appearance) I think that's right. On top of that Boston had to give up Wheeler and Stuart to make room for Kaberle. EDIT: I know Burke has stated that he wouldn't trade him unless he got "reasonable offers" but for that price a few teams must of been in play.

Illitch "definitely committed" to new downtown arena
dragonballgtz replied to Jenny's topic in General
Please banks started to make a profit a few months after the bailout. I am sure the only thing that is holding him back are two things 1. He wants Detroit to pay for a portion of it 2. City Council are a bunch of corrupt f***s. -
It would of been better if they awarded him a two year deal for that type of money. Considering that he is still leading the team with only 2 points in a long stretch that says something about his offensive importance to the team. Now he just has to do this year in year out for another 5 years, good luck.

Modano feeling good, aiming for late-February return
dragonballgtz replied to DatsyukianDekes's topic in General
I expect Miller to sit. The PK hasn't been that good and IMO Draper has outplayed him. -
Meh... that depends on how good they draft.
-
Yes, but when he signed his current contract it was a bigger percentage of the cap hit then it is now. Also with two lackluster playoff performances before he re-signed people questioned the amount as well.
-
Versteeg reminds me of Hudler. He cannot make his line mates better but playing with good players he looks great. I expect him to have a good go with the Flyers and be a good 2nd liner.
