WTF do you mean fast track? Howard has been baking in the minors for as long as possible and is 26 years old damn near 27. The Red Wings organization have taken their time with Howard getting him into the big league and now that he is struggling it's all Babs fault? During his AHL days they said inconsistency was a problem with him and this year it's showing. Last year was a great year and he carried the team for a huge stretch of the season. Guess what? When you play like that the expectation of how good you play goes up. Even with crappy defense and a poor team in front of him last year he was able to handle the load this year not so much. IMO the Red Wings learned from last year they cannot ride a hot goalie all season long. Sure they could do it if Howard was playing great but even if he was this is a good move because they can take the load off of him and keep him fresh for the playoffs. If Howard or anyone else does not like this move to bad. The Wings want another cup plain and simple. If Holland thinks this is a necessary risk/gamble to try and get Nabby he will take that risk if it means our odds of winning the cup goes up in his eyes.

Did I say he was terrible? No I didn't and Draper has outplayed him since his return.

He probably just wanted a chance to play in the NHL again. Nothing like having the Red Wings wanting to sign a player for other teams to take interest in him, with a small price tag on top of that.

Sit the 2nd line. Playing in their own end a lot, cost us a goal and almost gave Blues another goal at the end of the period.

When I read this post I thought of the scene in the documentary The Season where Holland and the gang are just coming up with ideas and talking about trades.

It basically is. Wings expect to go deep into the playoffs and guess who will be the one watching the game from the rafters when/if we have all three? If Nabokov get's signed Ozzie is done. The way we are playing defense that might not be all true. Also our crap play started before Datsyuk and Cleary went out. One thing I do wonder is how long will it be before he gets a rhythm? I do remember that he starts off slow but gets better as the year goes on.

Yeah he is lucky he is getting pulled Last 5 starts he has been pulled 3 times. One great game with a win another game with a win but let in 4 goals. Then during a ten game stretch after his last SO his GAA was 3.2 during that ten game stretch. Now like I've said in every goalie thread this year team defense has been atrocious. He is not playing lights out hockey like last year plus the fact that we are not just doing a good defensive job equals his GAA being high.

What's even sadder is that out 2 bottom lines have been the most impressive game in and game out. Sure they have a breakdown like any other line but they play with passion every night. That's pretty bad when your 3rd and 4th line are out working your top two lines.

Considering that they got a goal off a turn over then crashing the net to get it, I doubt it. They capitalized on our mistakes. Also I think the 2nd line looked invisible for the most part. Again not a full 60 minute game along with very very bad passing. I started to notice this more and more even when we were healthy. Passes are not on the stick on the break out. They are a foot in front, in the feet, slow/half ass, or behind. Even on the PP when they do a drop pass it's not even right in the lane of the forward receiving it. Detroit for the majority does not have great foot speed but what makes us look fast is that the passes are usually on the stick while the forwards are in full flight and that hasn't been happening for awhile. Yeah skipping the All-Star game because of a knee injury vs a concussion issue is a wee bit different. Being around bright lights and flashing lights all day is not a smart idea when dealing with a concussion.

Z may be playing good but he is not 100%. He has no jump in his step and at times looks slow, if the guy actually watched Red Wings games I'm sure he could see it.

If MacDonald cannot handle being backup it will hurt. Howard will have to play in more games because the confidence in Mac won't be high enough for Babs to put him in.
