I think Eaves has so far earned a longer contract maybe 3 years. Maybe it's just my own expectation but I see Draper, Miller, Mo all gone next season. With those three gone that leaves one true open spot for a youngster to claim if they earn it. I agree with those numbers except Eaves. With reduced ice time I didn't think he would come close to double digit goal numbers but the guy has been great. I think he gets $1m easily. Holland needs to use the "take one for the team and a chance to win" card with Lidstrom. That or bow down to him and beg to him to stay at an even lower cap hit as if his life depended on it.

If ATL was stupid enough to do that trade I would do it just for the cap relief then waive him. If this trade was to happen (which I am thinking will never happen) would the Wings talent compensate for his reduced ice time?

Even with the back to back I would rather have Ozzie play against Dallas than The Canucks. Dallas gives up more goals while Canucks score more and are better defensively.

So...yeah... Wings when you notice the puck is jumping and most passes are getting deflected stop trying to go for the perfect play and shoot the damn thing. Bert and Dats didn't have any chemistry at all. If they did they would of clicked more often when Bert was playing first line minutes.

Babs should put one of our 4th liners out on the PP with their sole role being taking the puck to the net hard. You are outside the slot hash marks...take it in further aim for the goalie pads and get ready for a rebound. 6 of 23 goals came on the PP, 22 of 34 helpers came on the PP.. so 49% of his point production came from the PP. If he is not getting it done on the PP he does not justify being part of this team with his current cap hit.

I hope Holland calls him to cheer him up. Having a great camp but only to find out you are being cut can take a jab at a young players confidence.

Franzen, Flip, and Hudler combo was chosen because it allowed more depth. The current difference between Mule's and Hossa's cap hit is ~$1.3M which is very valuable for depth. Also considering his lack luster playoff performance it was obvious who the Wings would choose. Considering Bert has more points and a better +/- than Flip I think he is doing better and not doing s*** as you say.

Datsyuk couldn't produce on his own last year like Crosby is doing this year. Maybe Datsyuk could produce more with more ice time but he cannot produce by himself like Crosby can and I think people over look that.

I love Mickey, it will be a sad day when he cannot do this job anymore. If Daniels stopped talking through his nose I could stomach him more. Sometimes he sounds clear and others he sounds very nasally to the point where I want him to get a nose job. Muprhy HANDS!!!!!! He needs to loosen up more.
