EZBAKE you need to stay on topic for your own thread. It started as Hasek's allegedly dirty hit and then your next post was an Osgood > Hasek post. After the game Friday I thought this board would be nothing but happy posters. It seems we have two Goalies in good form hopefully pushing each other to be better. We got to see the second hattrick in Hanks carreer. Our secondary scorers are getting the job done and our defense is great. Why some of you just want to ***** is beyond me. Also as I pointed out in another thread as long as Gaborik doesn't do a faceplant than the play was more flash than substance. It looked spectacular but the energy was disappaited through helmet/ pads/ sliding on the ice. The impact on Gaborik was not as bad as it could have been because the energy went elseware. It's called physics. Now stop your bitching and enjoy your team. You get to see Osgood again vs Nashville.

The only really good sounds you get out of a hockey game are from the mic's behind each crease. Every so often you'll hear something entertaining from those but it usually isn't suitible for TV.

Thanks for the post. This was a good scrap. Hockey could use one of these every game.

You are not comparing apple to apple. If you include your employers contibution to your Blue Cross coverage I would bet it would be far above the cost for the Canadian. This discussion probably belongs in another thread though.

Everyone needs to stop overreacting to this. The only real danger is if Gaborik lands face first into the ice. Since that didn't happen all the energy went into his helmet / pads / sliding on the ice. It looked more spectacular than the impact really was. The reality is as long as this happens in open ice most of the energy will go into the slide. People need to let it go. It was a good save by Dom and no one was hurt.

Sorry about being crude but it looks like they are having a fart contest, and everyone on the bench is losing.

I didn't see the game tonight so I can't speak to that. However I seem to have noticed the ref's favoring the home team in general lately. When the Wings were on the road the other night I remember a lot of phantom calls on them. I could be wrong though. Either way the refs have been very inconsistent this season and it makes watching the games painful at times.

I would dress Downey and Ellis. The energy those two bring to the play will help after the long layoff. With Franzen hurt we could sit out Kopecky to make room for them both.

Please reference the article in this thread. http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/index.ph...=44732&st=0 I think that shows pretty clearly it is not just a lot of opinions.

The only way it would punish a team in a weak division is if you have two equal teams both beating up on their division. In theory an equal team in a tougher division would end up with more losses to division teams. It would likely even out in the end. If this is used strictly to reorder the top eight for playoff matchups an argument could be made to neglect OTL.

I think Hud's will be the whipping boy no matter how he performs. He could put up a hattrick but as soon as he is shown losing a shoving match with a bigger opponent people will be all over how we don't need a player who can not make a physiical impact.

I think all I read was that he was offered a two year deal at the draft and he turned it down. I'm not sure how much $$.

Hopefully Danny stays on the market long enough to make hime reconsider Hollands offer. I would welcome him back.

Hopefully a couple of these guys will develope well and the wings become a bigger younger team in a couple years.

Michigan government is full of idiots. I think the state could get some extra money if the peoples just voted to stop paying these assholes. Sorry just had to vent.

I hate the idea of getting rid of the off-side rule. However I am warm to widening the blue line. It could lead to fewer "by an inch" off-side calls that do really slow the game and frustrate new fans. If I was going to get rid of a whistle in hockey it would be the hand pass. I really hate seeing that whistled and I am not quite sure what the point is. I think the penalty for closing your hand over the puck would keep things under crontrol and the added ability to direct the puck to a teammate could lead to some interesting scoring chances. Just a thought.

This is what sets Yashin apart from Draper, Cleary, etc... I wouldn't take the gamble on him.

Doin my part. Lang is clutch. Wings in 7!!!!

The one thing that is keeping my spirits up is that the wings have not stopped playing with heart all playoffs. Yesterday's loss will be the biggest test of their composure so far. I think the veterans on this team can turn the disappointment into motivation though. IMO we will know early if they are going to win game 6. If they come out strong and get some goals in the first then they will win it. After that it's almost a lock when the wings have a chance to closeout a team. Just have to remain optimistic. GO WINGS!!!!!!

Our team D was pretty good in game five. What we lacked was offence. This is a bad time for cold streaks for Dats and Z. I think Huds would bring more offensive creativity to the Wings for game 6. Plus he plays with a lot of heart that the rest of the team could feed off of. I say put him in.

What the hell do you mean? IMO Niedermayer got the game misconduct because he obviously took a run at Homers back. He got exactly what he deserved. That play must of been a discipline nightmare for the legue. I think they handled it very well though with both players recieving adequate penalties.

I have to say both the Ducks and Sharks are good at intercepting the puck with speed. The Wings turned the puck over in the defensive zone to often in their loses to these teams. They seemed to learn from their mistakes against the Sharks and didn't let it happen in games 5 & 6 of that series. I think the Wings will make the corrections against the Ducks as well.
-
Momentum hasn't meant a thing this series so I wouldn't worry about it. One thing I do know is that the Wings have stepped up in game 5's vs Calgary and the Sharks. I beleive they will keep that trend going.
-
Let the Ducks fans say what they want. They won one game and it seemed bigger because they were without Proger. Fact is the Wings are averaging 3.25 goals per game this series while the Ducks average is 2.75. If this continues the wings will win the series. Last night the Ducks won because the puck seemed to jump to there sticks in the first and Giggy's pads didn't allow a goal in the 3rd. It also didn't help that the Wings were more interested in playing Tic-Tac-Toe while on the 5 on 3's than in shooting the puck. We need to get people in front of the net and let them clean up after Giggy's rebounds. Wings have played well in the afternoon games, not to mention Game 5's. They will come out big on Sunday and make us proud. Wings in 6.

I didn't hear the broadcast but maybe they lost respect for the team due to how they responded as a whole. Once down 4-0 the ducks started marching to the penalty box for a variety of poor penalties and cheap shots. For a team that is supposed to be one of the best in the NHL it was an embarassing way to respond to adversity. The Pronger hit showed two players taking out their frustration on the other teams best player to that point. Pronger would have probably gotten away with the elbow if R.Neidermeyer had not run at Homer's back and hit him at the same time. The Ducks have a chance to earn peoples respect back. They just have to play a clean hard game 4, or at least not lose their cool when they are being beaten by the better team. GO WINGS!!!
