Is it just me or are the Ducks after Detroits depleated D-men. Thorton getting Markov off the ice for five minutes. Perry running Chelios in the back. If the refs don't start taking care of it this series could get ugly. I don't want to sound like a Calgary fan but; There running our goalie! One more period. GO WINGS

Dabura that was a wonderful post that captured my thoughts and more. I don't think we should be to hard on the Ducks fans though, it must be tough for them. I mean I personally would find it hard to back a team whose history reads "Started as a promotional gimmick,,,,". Wings will step up like they have all playoffs and finish the Ducks in 6. GO WINGS!!!

To say I had no fear of the Sharks would be a lie. I have always had faith the Wings would take it in six but I knew it was going to be a tough series. I think the Wings skill / experience / heart has kept us in this series. The fact that the Sharks are lacking in experience / heart has helped us as well. The size thing honestly did not worry me that much though. It takes more energy for a big guy to get up when he's down. Size can be as big a hindrance as an asset if not used effectively. I just hope we can finish this series on Monday.

So here is the storyline. Series tied 2-2. The wings play a huge game five to go up 3-2 in the series. They go out west and finish the series on the road. I've seen it once but I sure would love a repeat. Wings in 6!!!!!!!

Wings have done well Saturday afternoons. The Sharks will come out strong, Dom will stand on his head. Wings win. They will take control of the game after weathering the Sharks start. GO WINGS!!!

Benching Bert would be a mistake. He has assests we need in this series. As much as I like Hudler, I think he is ineffective against the Sharks. Sit Hudler. Bert did take a few bad penalties in game 3 but the Sharks were interfering all game long without calls. That was a little frustrating. The wings are not going to be able to put alll the blame on one player. They need to step up the offence as a team. The wings scored more goals in game 5 against Calgary then they have this whole series. If the TEAM can't solve that problem then we are out of yet another post season. Oh and stop the Hasek bashing. Hasek played a hell of a game. If Cheechoo had shot the puck instead of faking it Hasek would have made the save.

The Wings will get at least one win in San Jose. We were competitive with Calgary in all the games at the Saddledome and Calgary was a MUCH better team at home. I know San Jose is not Calgary but they are not unbeatable in the Tank. One of these games Detroit will jump out early and keep the pressure on for 60 minutes. Then we will see what the Sharks really have to offer. That said I would love to see hasek get a shutout next game so everone who doubted him can hear "over 115 minutes without a goal allowed." To be fair though I was amoung that group of doubters.

Well you can look at it this way. Hasek is going into SJ having not allowed a goal in what 55 minutes of hockey. Positive spin I know but still not bad.

The sharks were not exactly impressive in game 1 and the wings were flat. They have stepped up for every afternoon game so far this post season so I have a good feeling about this one. Wings in 6.

I can't believe you call yourself a hockey fan and call things that are hockey (hip checks, defending yourself from a hit, etc...) dirty play. The flames have been leading with their elbow. Hell Iginla elbowed Dom in the head and Dom got a penalty in game 4. I know you have never seen Detroit turn to the disgusting cheaps shots when they were out of a game. Oh wait they have never been embarassed like Calgary has been in this series.

I can't believe you can call yourself a true hockey fan and be bitching about the Wings respect for the goalie. 95% of the times that a Wing has ended up hitting Kipper it was because a Flame had just checked them into the net. If Calgary doesn't respect their own goalie how can Detroit. Watch the end of game 5 if you truely want to see some dirty play. The Flames are classless and hopefully the NHL will hand out some suspensions for the cheap shots.
