Mixed feelings about this. The wider ice would definately ease the transition for the ever-increasing population of European players. On the other hand, as other have mentioned, is the costs. And, if Don Cherry hasn't already blown up about it, I can see traditionalist getting pissed off at such a drastic change to the sport.

With that photo, he's onside. Think about it from a defensemen's point of view. Kronner at the point with the puck for example. He's still onside.

http://www.nhl.com/ice/page.htm?id=26497 My interpretation is that as long as the puck is 100% on the blueline and you are either bringing it in or a drop-pass and if you're in control of the puck (similar to how they let players skate in backwards and pick up the puck off the blueline).

Mrazek played great. The only goal against was in a wide open net, but he made great saves. I don't think the Backes hit was as terrible as some people think. Dats seemed a little bit shocked for a few seconds, but then he was back to his regular shifts. -

Zetterberg is grittier and has a shoot first mentality. Datsyuk has the best hands in the game. He's also the best passer in the league. I don't know if it's fair to compare them, they compliment each other and that makes them both great.

Each and every game so far. Yes, they are terribly rusty/out of sync, but everyone is already calling for every player's head to roll. It's a short season, but we're only 1-2 (if we don't win tonight). Is there a reason to worry? Not yet. And yes, I realize it's a shortened season, but you have to give them a handful of games to hopefully start to gel.
