Terrible news. Health is more important than hockey right now for Cole, hope he can get well soon. This reminds me of the Mike Modano signing. We had Mike in the lineup for only 40 games before he suffered a career ending injury. Cole only played 11 games before his injury. Yikes. -

Crazy KHL hockey fight could end in assault charges http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/early-lead/wp/2015/02/17/crazy-khl-hockey-fight-could-end-in-assault-charges/ The video isn't very clear because the fight happens in the far corner, but it sounds like EmDog needed a few stitches. The incident happened with only a few seconds left of a 5-1 game (EmDog's team won). Such unnecessary garbage.

I feel mixed about Nelly taking the job. First, he's a cool guy and is one of the smarter coaches out there. I watched him for years in Muskegon and Grand Rapids and have a few pictures of us after the Muskegon Fury won the UHL Colonial Cup. He's coached at all levels. But... it's Edmonton. Eakins deserved to be fired. I just hope Nelly can turn the Oilers around, but this season is lost. I know it's only interim but maybe that's a good thing for him

Puck Daddy article. "The crux of this list is simple. Which of these awesome players do you select first to start a new team in 2014?". From the list of 45 players, 10 players (22% of total list) are from our beloved Red Wings. My team would always start with Yzerman. Even in today's NHL, Stevie Y's leadership more than makes up for a lack of skating speed with that knee.

Maybe this was mentioned, but I'm pretty sure the NFL has mandatory financial planning for rookies to prevent horrible stuff like this from happening. It's basically to teach them how fast you can burn through money, warn them about scams/investments and, most importantly, making sure that they have an untouchable nest egg after retirement. Whether the player actually follows through with this plan is not guaranteed.

Happy for him being a one-way contract. He doesn't belong in the minors. Even for league minimum, I'm sure he's glad to get a full NHL season. Good luck Toots!

I don't think it's too bad. It's not as crowded as the old version. Also the articles are in the now-standard single column with a side navigation bar. One thing I like about their side bar is that it doesn't follow you as you scroll through the articles. That feature is so damn annoying. Anyways, I was OK with the previous site, but I like the cleaner look of the new version. (Sorry, I've been developing web apps/sites for 18 years lol)
