Hands down, in the modern era, Mike Milbury is/was the worst GM. He's the Matt Millen of hockey.

I was and am still a fan of this trade. Huge fan of Bert's, and while he's not the same as he was in Vancouver, he's found a good spot here with the Wings.

I started to read this thread at the beginning, but gave up and figured just fast forward to the end... The waiver system is very flawed. As some have pointed out, this puts a nice big spotlight on it and hopefully some positive change will come of it. Ideally, yes, Kenny did all the legwork, but he obviously knew there was no way in hell Nabby was getting past the bottom feeders, especially at that contract. What are Holland's true intentions? Nobody but Wings management knows for sure. As far as Nabby not reporting, and the NHL apparently threatening that he would have to play the entire next full season with the Islanders, I'm glad Nabby told the Isles to f*** off. If they REQUIRE him to play, as many have said is possible, just stand there in goal. Don't even try. Hell, standing behind the net would be even better. Nabby's not a potential hall-of-famer, so what if his stats suck for a bit, it will only last a VERY short time. It may be insubordination, but he's already said he WILL NOT REPORT. The NHL will only look ******* TERRIBLE, as will the Isles. Snow is a terrible GM for a terrible organization icing a terrible team. I am still of the opinion they should be required to put DiPietro in net for all 82 games even if he's injured as punishment for his ludicrous contract. Wang can go suck, well... a wang. The Isles should just fold already.

That's kind of how I interpreted it. Ken mentioned something about the Flyers only having to leave their time zone twice during the entire season to help make his point that Detroit has to go on 3 or 4 game Western Canadian trips a couple times a year.

I think you guys are analyzing it a little too much. It's just a promotion/gimmick. That's it. Not a comic-purist's wet dream nor a 3rd grade sketch. The NHL (God I can't believe I'm going to defend them :puke:) is just trying unconventional stuff to attract/engage fans. Failure? Pretty much. But I just feel people are taking it a little too seriously.

The Wings need to start out strong. None of this "fall behind by 2 goals consistantly" crap. Get after them from the opening faceoff boys!

To say he hasn't made the transition well is putting it quite nicely. Currently, of the top 50 AHL goalies, he's riding high at #42. His save percentage is .884 with a GAA of 3.11 and a 5-10-2 record. I know the Griffins haven't been tearing it up (18-18-1-4, 5th in the division), but at least Joey Mac's numbers are somewhat respectable for an AHL'er (althought his save percentage is just as bad as McCollum's). McCollum has a LOOOOONG way to go just to be solid at an AHL level. The thought of being an NHL-caliber goalie shouldn't even be in his mind (and yes, I realize he just turned 21).

I guesstimated 5 games, so I guess he got what I figured. I would've liked to have seen a 15 game suspension, as we lose a top-pair defenseman and they lose a 4th line scrub with a history of illegal hits. But, that's the NHL for ya... His fine should be double what it is, what the hell is $30,000 to an NHLer (even a 4th liner??) It was a bulls***, 100% pure intent to injure play and Calgary's response is on par with their organization, delusional and inept.

I had a Apicoectomy done yesterday and that's just having your gums retracted and a square cut out of your jaw bone to reach an infected root. I'm in miserable pain. I can't even ******* IMAGINE what a broken jaw could feel like... That bastard should have gotten the boot and I EXPECT a lengthy suspension, whether or not the NHL will sack up and give him one is another issue. Whatever, Keats rules, whether you like his schtick or not; Murph cannot be questioned. Who cares if he loves dollar dogs and beer, who the f*** doesn't? And Mick and Ken are untouchable.
