I think the you'll find that most Michigan-based Red Wings fans (like myself) are also fans of the Tigers/Lions/Pistons. It just seems natural to cheer for the other Detroit teams. All four teams have a lot in common (hard working teams, blue collar work ethic, etc...) and I think this really appeals to Michiganders. I know that's what I respect the most, whether I'm cheering for Steve Yzerman or Barry Sanders or Alan Trammell or Joe Dumars.

I've been a fan through the terrible 1980s and will continue to be a fan as long as they are the Detroit Red Wings. Growing up watching Steve Yzerman stick through the days where they were giving cars away at home games to seeing him raise the Stanley Cup so many years later was awesome. I will forever be a Detroit Red Wings fan.

Hockeydb.com had him at 6'5" 250lbs. I thought he was bigger than that. As far as fighting goes, I didn't say he wasn't tough, just that his fighting skills were average for an NHLer. He's one of the nicest guys I've met and would fill a 4th line/enforcer role very well

I would select ex-Muskegon Fury player Steve "Big Mac" MacIntyre. The kid has tremendous size (6'5" 250lbs) and is an average fighter. He'd be a cheap contract and a role player.

Congrats to both. Glad to see Ciccarelli get the props he deserves

Congrats to Dats on the Selke hat trick

This deal was a complete shocker to me. I didn't detect a hint of Chicago wanting to move Bufyglien. I guess Chicago figured his value would never be higher than right after a Cup win.

Welcome back Bert!!

Looks like Keith got Briere with a wicked stick in the eye...

Flyers score 32 seconds into the period.
-
The Flyers sure love Koko don't they?
-
I think the "Duncan Keith 4 Norris" talk is pretty silly
-
Wow, and just like that, 2 goals.
-
Now that is the dagger... I don't see the Hawks pulling a Boston. The Sharks are done.
-
That's a dagger for sure...
-
I'd like him back.

Someone needs to lay Thornton out...

4-1 ouch. I hate both teams, but at this moment, I'd like to see an original 6 win the cup, even an interdivision rival, than San Jose.

FSD's John Keating offers his condolences to Sid and the Penguins.

That's EXACTLY how it sounded in my head. I even pictured him the whole time kinda bobbing and weaving while speaking as well haha -
35 years? Congrats Flyers. Boston Beantown Breakdown complete.
-
Wow, this game has been strange. If the Flyers pull this off, which in 2 minutes, they will, that's awesome for them. I can't believe the Boston choke job. Crazy.

That's the dagger!!

Sorry to see you go May. Good luck in retirement

Paul MacLean is a great coach. I've had the opportunity to watch him coach for over 10 years, most of those were in the UHL for the Quad City Mallards and they won a few championships for him. I used to give him s*** because Quad City were our top rival and my seasons seats were behind the home bench. Everytime he came onto the ice for the next period, I'd stand up and bark and clap like a Walrus because of his mustache. After awhile I think he expected it and was genuinely amused by it so he'd always point or wave at me. Class act guy, I just had to give him the hard time for the mustache LOL. I really hope we don't lose him because he has a great offensive mind, as Quad City almost always led in offensive categories.
