Gotta respect Sakic. As everyone says, on the same level of class as Stevie Y and that is so rare. Like they said during the ceremony, to paraphrase, "they made two players out of the same mold, Sakic and Yzerman, except one shoots right and the other shoots left". It was a good ceremony. Pretty short, kinda mumbled a lot, but he was emotional and I thought it was pretty cool.

On the NHL Network earlier, can't remember the name of the show (it's got Larry Murphy and Kevin Weekes), they were discussing what teams would make it into the playoffs and which would miss and Chicago was named as a team that wouldn't necessarily be guaranteed a 1-8 seed.

This. You can ruin lives with just the mention of 'rape'. That Yzerman/Foote video always pisses me off. 100% pure intent to injure. Period. It's amazing that the linesmen actually sacked up and enforced the penalty. Watching that also reminded me that I do still miss Gary Thorne and Bill Clement though On a side note: That video also reminded how much I miss guys like Hull, Robitaille and especially Shanahan.

I agree about the posturing. I used to work for Charter Communications a few years ago and every year they would pick a channel or two that they know they have a large viewer base and they would announce those channels as unavailable a few months ahead of time (it changed from the NHL Network, the Big Ten Network, Center Ice, Versus, etc...) Usually around the time the season starts, a deal is in place and most of the stations are available. It's just a bunch of greed on both sides of the puck / baseball / football, etc...

The one season I had Center Ice, I watched all the Red Wings games on FSN. I only used Center Ice as filler for when the Wings weren't on. And usually at the All-Star break, you can get Center Ice for half price for the remainder of the season. I know that doesn't directly answer your question, just figured I'd give my experience with Center Ice.
