I had just been wondering what Sammy was up to. I didn't know if he was just a healthy scratch or in Bab's dog house (ie. Commodore64). I figured something had to be going on behind the scenes.

He definitely left his feet before the hit. The head was the point of contact. Since he's a repeater, he might get 2 games. Otherwise I can see him getting a fine like Lupul's crosscheck on Eaves jaw. Edit: After thinking about it, Myers might get a punishment similar to Engelland's hit on Abby. That was 5 games and was a fly-by elbow to the head. This is clearly a head shot and leaving the ice isn't going to help his case any. We will have to see if this warrants a Shanaban.

I didn't attend personally, but I think the whole weekend was absolutely great. Pretty much everything went off without a hitch. I'm bummed that the Wings lost in the SO, but it was still a damn fun game to watch. And on top of that, seeing the Russian Five and all four members of the Grind Line on the ice. I realized how much I miss Fedorov skating for Detroit. He skates so smooth and fast. Nice to see Stevie Y, Shanny, Lids, Lapointe, Little Ball of Hate, Rafalski, etc... Lots of nostalgia for sure

I just pray they remove the POS-SO skills competition. Yay! Year 'round individual stick and puck! Awesome! Forget all that 65 minutes of team play! I was against it before and nothing will change my mind that the SO is pure garbage. A horrible gimmick that needs to be put down now. Otherwise, the 65 minute game was great!

Anyone else notice the concerted effort of the FSD team to make sure they never mention Larry Murphy by name? Over the last few weeks with the alumni games coming up, they show players on the ice practicing and talking about each guy and whatnot, and then Murphy is skating and they have the camera on him for a good 5 seconds. No ones speaks during that time and as soon as another player is on the screen they start talking about that guy. And when they talk about all the greats that will be there, they usually manage to never mention Murphy what-so-ever. Maybe it's just me, but it's like he's been banished and has now become the new "He-whose-name-shall-not-be-spoken". If true, that's too bad.

Now you can go ahead and mail those two letters written earlier lol

Maybe you're thinking of the lithograph of the players. It had a lower-middle pic of (I think) Bowman\ Illich \ Nill \ Devellano and all the players lined up in red.

I read the article. He obviously understands the game from ice-level, which is great. His presentation is nice too.
