Well, I didn't want it to happen, it'll mean the end of a promising prospect, but whatever.

People forget how effective Hudler was. Off the top of my head didn't he record 24 goals, 57 points or something in his last season? I see no reason why he couldn't hit 70 this season given the fact he'll see quality ice time and lots of PP time. I just hope he isn't stuck alongside Modano and Cleary, don't think they're ideal linemates for him. Welcome back Huds, always knew you'd be back. Dominate this season mate.

Great stuff on the 'interview' mate, top read. As for Abdelkader, I love him. This guy is going to be a real fan favourite, and a 20-20 type guy in a few years.
-
My second favourite pick of the draft behind Teemu. Love this guy, and all the Swedes over on HF Boards are unanimous in their love for him and his skill level. Can't wait to watch his development.

Hey mate! The Adelaide Adrenaline as they’re now known won the championship last year!! Greg Oden is still playing and tearing it up, I believe he’s the captain. We’ve got a few international imports, Russian Zolaterevn and Fin Sami Mantere. We’ve also got this 16 y/o from Canada by the name of Carson Sinclair. They’ll be a good chance to defend their title next season.

Easily the player I'm most excited about from the draft. This guy is boom or bust, but if he's of the boom variety, we've got ourselves one heck of a player.

Is anyone else starting to get really excited about this kid? After finishing another poor season over in Sweden in 2007, the Wings had a decision to make, cut him loose or take a punt and give him a contract. He probably didn’t even deserve one as he was struggling to even make an impact in the 2nd tier Swedish league. But the Red Wings saw something in him that they liked so they rewarded him with a contract in the hope that his talents would lead to success in North America. Although this might be a little premature I think the gamble is paying off. Darren Helm is still considered a prospect so he’s still my favourite but I’d now have Ritola at #2. He had a very encouraging rookie season with the Griffins and although he didn’t put up a whole heap of points, his play was promising and he got better as the season wore on. He had 22 points in 72 games and even got a call up to the Wings during the time they were savaged by injury. He had an assist in his two game stint. The defensive side of his game was meant to be a real weakness and yet from memory he had the best +/- rating of all the Griffins last season, if not the best then at least right up there. He started paying more attention to this area and it’s certainly paid off. He is one of the more highly skilled prospects we have and IMO he has top 6 potential. People have been amazed by his puck handling ability and he never seems to lose the puck when bringing it up ice. Hopefully this season he can put a few more pucks in the net and continue to play hard every night just as he did last season. He’s only 21, has decent size and is quick. I really like Ritola and what he could potentially bring to the table in a few years time.

His numbers are just staggering last season, I just hope he can back that up. Not saying that it didn't happen last season, but you know he's going to receive a lot of attention from opposition defences this season. I'd say one more season in the NCAA, one in GR, and then a Wing in 2012/13.

I can't believe so many people want him to sign. I guess his name goes a long way eh?
-
Just retire Mike, or at the very least, stay away from Detroit.

I hear ya mate, Stamkos is a freak! Probably my favourite non Wing.

I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that Kindl will become a regular this season, and will surprise many. He's got high end talent. A beautiful skater, good size, good on the PP, he'll be a much better NHL player than he ever was in the AHL. Looking forward to watching him take giant strides this season.

Can't help but feel Koivu is being a little underrated around here HOWEVER I do agree, a bit of an overpayment. I would've thought somewhere between $5-6 mil would've been more realistic. Koivu didn't really impress me in the Olympics though, whatever relevance that has!

There's more of a chance that Mursak is a regular in 2010/11 than Tatar, and Mursak has no chance. Why rush their development? Mursak will be up next season, Tatar will either be up next season or in 2012/13 when Holmstrom, Bertuzzi and maybe more are all gone.
-
Fantastic goal by Mursak at 1:35. Can't wait for this kid to hit Detroit.

You can't be serious? Maltby, returning? This has got to be a joke.

Haha Webber you gun! -
Lidstrom yes, I said all along I wanted him at $5 mil. Holmstrom's deal was spot on, Bert's a TAD too much, but overall not bad.
-
Excellent, our defence is looking quite strong. In fact, I do like the look of our roster for this upcoming season. Lashoff, Smith and Andersson are great additions, Mursak and Tatar will be even better, and Filppula and those two FA's we signed seem to be good fits.
-
Fair call, but given what was mentioned in the above article, I don't think Modano is coming.
-
$3 mil remaining. Roughly: $1 mil Helm $1 mil Abdelkader $750k Meech (might S&T, waive) Holland says he wants $700k up his sleeve just in case, I don't see how that's possible, ESPECIALLY if we were to sign Modano.

I like Kolosov so I'm very happy with this news. Big body, good on the PK, uses his size in the defensive zone and he can also make pretty neat passes coming out of defence.
-
Zherdev has insane talent, despite all his issues I still would've loved him at the Wings. Good move by Philly.

Great post.
