Holland: Free Agent Shopping is Probably Done

Homosexual cheap dwarfs? Are these dwarfs cheap like in "don't tip a lot' or are they cheap for night's fun? Cause I got a fetish that needs to be fulfilled.

    Players in salary arbitration

Avery is a dueche. Everything is about Sean Avery in Sean Avery's head. Fight? Please! All Avery does is talk smack and puss out. He tries to draw penalties, but ends up being assessed them himself. Honestly, he's like Maltby, but Malts is smart about the way he instigates crap and draws penalties. The best move the Kings made last season was to rid themselves of his self-centeredness. That said, his chick is hot!

Wings sign (G) Adam Berkhoel, (D) Brad Ference

People are really quick to forget that we carried three goalies last season. I don't know why everyone forgets that we need to sign another goalie if Hasek is going to re-sign. That was in order to keep Hasek from having to go in cold if Osgood got the old boot. He could be the Joey of next season.

    Compensation picks

Or, if you want facts. Per the CBA Article 10.1 (a) (i) "....such player shall be completely free to negotiate and sign an SPC with any Club, and any Club shall be completely free to negotiate and sign an SPC with such Player, without penalty or restriction, or being subject to any Right of First Refusal, Draft Choice Compensation or any other compensation or equalization obligation of any kind"

    Compensation picks

Compensation picks? No, they're unrestricted free agents. Why would we?

Something tells me you'll be amongst the majority. But, I'm just guessing.

Joakim Anderson our 2007 1st rd pick ?

Phoenix has a lot of North American players too. EDIT:So do Calgary and San Jose....might as well throw St. Louis out there too. 3/4's of their roster is North American.

    New Uniforms?

OK, first off, everybody stop freaking out. The Wings jersey isn't changing. The ones you saw in any of those sites is FAN made photoshops of what people thought would look good with the original Reebok template. They are NOT indicative of anything. Jesus...do you think the Red Wings would release any lame photoshopped image like that to anyone? If they did, I would hope their design person was fired. The new Reebok jersey does allow for horizontal striping, but Reebok claims that teams that use it will not see the full benefit of the new design, that's it. The jersey will be the same, just snug like the All-Star jerseys. Man, this discussion has been beaten to death and people still don't get it. If you watched the All-Star game, you know how goalies and players will appear in these new jerseys

Free Agent Names to Look At

So, you're going to have a line with 3 Centers? And where in our budget do we fit in contracts for Bert, Drury, and Gomez? Gomez will get a raise from his $5mil, Drury will definitely get a raise, and Bert will most likely be reduced but still semi expensive.

Kozlov would certainly fit the bill of a Holland signing. I was disappointed when he was traded, but it was just a no-brainer.

Free Agent Names to Look At

The Wings biggest problem was their problem at the beginning of the year. They need more skilled wingers. Defense, when healthy, can remain the same as far as I'm concerned. The biggest thing that killed the Wings against the Ducks was a lack of a good 2nd line. Everytime that Lang line got paired up against the Perry/Getzlaf line they got into trouble and it eventually ended the season. They need to solidify 2 scoring lines before they can move that extra step forward. EDIT: Interesting post while I was typing my post. I agree!

Hasek: "I may have played my last game"

Giguere is not coming to the Wings. You can mark my words on that one. It's just not going to happen. The price is out of order, the team is out of order, the whole damn camping trip is out of order.
  14. al48

    How about this?

I tend to agree. The bitchfest of the reffing is unwarranted. It's piss poor both ways...even to the point of giving the Wings a 5 on 3 on a terribly bad "tripping" call. The Wings simply didn't capitalize on their opportunities to seal the game. Credit to Giguere for keeping the Ducks in striking distance. The Wings didn't take advantage of simple plays they should have and could have made that would have put them in a better position today.

    My Views on Tonight's Game

Yeah, because working him hard in '03 worked well. Maybe it's better he doesn't see a lot of shots...not that that's really ever a great gameplan, but hey.

Why are the Duck fans / press so cocky?

Hey, I live in LA and am a diehard Wings fan. So watch who you're bashing, Bub. Not to mention, most hockey fans who live in Los Angeles (not Anaheim) want to see the Ducks lose, because they can't bear the thought of the Ducks winning the Cup before the Kings.
  17. al48

    Off season....

I completely disagree with your assessment of his movement. Part of being an incredible positional goalie is skating really hard. You have to skate much harder to keep yourself centered to the puck at all times. Giguere is a really hard, good skating goalie. That's what gives him his ability to seemingly always be in front of the puck. Some people may say it's a lazy style, but it's completely inaccurate. There's a reason there's very little flash in his saves.

    Schneider: OUT with Broken Wrist

Put a cast on it and throw him back in there. It's his left wrist isn't it? Who needs to use that?

    Suspend Thornton!

Why does everyone assume all hockey players go out and immediately golf after their season is over with
  20. The best thing about this series is that no one person or line stood out as THE dominating force. They never had to rely on just one person or line getting it done. It was a team effort through and through. More importantly, it was a team defensive effort through and through, and that's what gets it done in the playoffs. It's no time for MVP's and honorable mentions. There's still three more series to play, and each one is going to be more difficult than this.

    Only a dream?

I seem to remember Cloutier going back to his old style helmet this year after he was sucking it up during the early goings of the season. I may be mistaken about this, but I believe he switched back to the sk-2000.

    JOHN TAVARES

Ahaha...keep him on their radar? He's on everybody's radar. Tavares crashed through the radar. I wouldn't be suprised to see multiple teams attempt to tank the '08-'09 season just to have a chance at him.

    God Bless the L.A. Marathon!

Hell, I didn't even realize that was you posting this. So, what's the problem then? EDIT...crap, I'm way off...never mind...I'm going to bed. At any rate...the Kings suck. I heard attendence was in the dumps today. Most likely because there isn't any draw for the other teams fans, which is all it usually is at Staples
