Good heavens. Why the Rangers?

Ugh. Versus... mixed feelings on that one. Don't like the on-air personalities, but as someone who gets the Center Ice package every year (displace fan syndrome), I'm hoping that I have a better chance of seeing all the pregame stuff. Center Ice oftten cuts in at the very last minute and (seems to) cut out before the final horn has finished sounding.

Would Hockey Nation be a better term? I'm always amazed by how many Wings fans are at the games when we go see them play in Raleigh or Washington... sometimes up to half the arena (or at least it seems that way). I've met people at games who grew up in the Southeast and D.C. and are Wings fans... even though they have no familal or territorial ties to Detroit or even Michigan for that reason. About the only other teams that I personally have experienced like that are the New York Yankees (gag) and the Dallas Cowboys.

I agree. At one game a week, is that really hard to achieve?

I'm still pumped to have him... but the whole vibe of "what can Detroit do for ME in one year" leaves a somewhat sour taste in my mouth...

I could dig this one, maybe. Add the tie-down laces and it might look even cooler. Or maybe make the white look a little more aged or "yellowed."

I don't know... I don't think this is all that bad. Having a tie-up would make it look a little bit cooler.

I've always said that if I had a chance to see it again, I'd raise it over my head this time... but that does seem sort of inappropriate now that I think about it... Well, I guess THIS time I'd share it with Wings fans... people who actually respect the chalice.

I saw that this morning and was proud. I thought the reporter was a little dense to continue on with it.

You know, I gotta wonder just a little bit more about this. This morning I'm patrolling the web and hit the NHL website. The "frozen moment" is Crosby laying into Stuart. Which sort seemed strange to me... considering that Kronner had many more hits and, well, there were four goals (none my Crosby) that might have been nice to show as the "frozen moment." So then I look at the stats on the bottom of the start page (or flash page? I'm not technically inclined). I notice that Fleury is still ahead in the Wins category. Seems odd... I swear some guy name Osgood won one more game than him last night. But again, no big deal... maybe they just haven't updated the site yet. It happens. Then I look at the three stars of the game and notice that this Osgood guy was (apparently reluctantly by the NHL) awarded the Second Star. As I'm reading I notice the cute little dig of "He wasn't severely tested in the last two periods, but..." I mean, seriously. Would they be so quick to add a disclaimer to Crosby like "he wasn't severely equipped to make a single point despite all the hype" or how about "despite being unable to walk onto the ice without embarrassing himself and the entire Penguins lineup, Fleury..." I don't know. I'm overanalyzing (I know) but I'm getting real sick of this crap really fast.

I have absolutely no trust in Gary Bettman whatsoever when it comes to him and his boyfriend, Crosby. Something really smells that they didn't even review that first goal... but then again, it's happened to Homer many times before...
