This past fall I put in for, and got, the North Carolina novelty license plate WINGSWIN. What was even cooler is that the DMV changed the color for the lettering on NC plates from blue to red. There's no way that it can't be just a coincidence in my mind. I'm planning on it being prophetic...and when I'm not being lazy, I'll upload a pic.

Good stuff. And I'd like to second your idea of hockey and Oberon!! Man, this sucks being in NC and not up there in the Zoo for the Finals.

If only it were that simple.

And yet still ANOTHER reason why hockey sux in LA

Wow. -
Not that I am able to go, but are there ever "wheelchair" seats that aren't along the mezzanine wall? That's always where I've been placed when I've gone (except for some weird riser thing at center ice on the main level once).

Wait. Since when has Hank's hair been "golden?"

10 Things I Like About The Detroit Red Wings - Article

Very cool story! Thank you for posting! -
Awesome!!! Personally I wish a lot of the NHL refs would say "I quit," but this would be fun, too.

Bought mine the night we swept!

Red wig thing is linked to Commodore. At least when he was with Calgary and Carolina (not sure with Ottawa). I DID like his bathrobe thing. Hurricanes jumped on that pretty quickly; you could buy one in the kiosks at the RBC Center during the playoffs.

Oh, wow. Let's see... At one game at the Verizon Center in Washington I was called a "f'ing piece of sh*t" and had a guy waiting for me (supposedly) to kick my ass. All I did was raise my hands and shrug each time the Wings scored. I don't remember if this was the time (or a different one) in which I went to the bathroom and had a drunk chick tell my wife that she was going to "knock (me) out of my wheelchair if (I) kept it up." In Raleigh...when the Wings weren't even playing, apparently my Wings hat was enough to piss off a couple of Frat Rats who though it would be fun to throw pennies at the back of my head. The folks at Nationwide are riDICULOUS, in my opinion. I mean sailor language. Doesn't bother me that much but I really honestly felt like one of them was going to jump me and my Dad the last time I went. All we did was cheer for the Wings but apparently it was enough for one prick to threaten my Dad. Yeah...I could see how his standing up to cheer was SOOOO offiensive that some drunks behind him would feel compelled to scream out "SIT THE F*CK DOWN, DATSYUK" (he was wearing my Pavel Ak-Bars jersey...which I was sort of impressed that the clowns were able to translate the Russian.) Generally I'll take all the abuse and try not to embellish too much. Frankly I don't want to be roughed up by some prick because I provoked him. I also try to befriend the ushers if I can. I figure if I get my ass kicked and the usher doesn't help maybe I can sue the pants off the organization and make a little coin in the process. ;D

Yeah, man...I totally was just talking to my Dad about that. What a day for Detroit fans...Tigers sweep the Drugees and the Pistons win their series and THIS game...wow...
-
Mine's trying pathetically...but that's part of the fun. Even got my Dad doing it.

Does he have to forfeit pay? How does the MFLA law apply to pro athletes? I'm not trying to be a smartass, but I was curious. I work in education and know that many of my female coworkers can opt to use short-term disability for maternity leave (as do the male educators who have wives who are/will give birth).

Is O'Halloran or McCreary the dude with the "I drink your milkshake" mustache?

I thought the choice of Smythe over Homer for "backside" seemed a little strange. (I can't believe I just typed that; out of context, that's pretty freaking weird)
-
LOL... I didn't catch that the first time (the dude on the ground). Awesome.
-
Nope. I agree on both accounts.
-
No, no, no... Contract, don't expand. It's already way too big. The regular season has essentially become (almost...not entirely) null and void.

Good call, after Stuart, man...

My wife sold a coffee drink to Yzerman's sister. Not that big of a deal...but kind of cool considering that she (snd my wife and i) live in North Carolina.
