Great to see Kenny giving them and earful... I would have loved to see Stevie with those refs last night though... he used to really give 'em hell... very fun to watch. Lids is so laid back, that is great too, but I just loved Steve ripping them a new one on the ice... Speaking of Lids... did anyone else kind of chuckle at how polite he was on the "mic'd up" segment on NBC when he told the refs to watch the sticks on Hasek after the play? Love Lids, but that was funny. Agreed... Kippers has been amazing. If anyone else was backstopping for them, this series would have been over in 4.

I think that will definitely end up sending Lankow to the showers for Game 6 at least... unless of course the NHL has no ballz whatsoever.

Totallly agree... If San Jose, Anaheim or Dallas were to meet, let's say the Rangers in the Finals, it would get good ratings, but if Detroit or Vancouver were to meet them, even bigger ratings would ensue. Really, the Western Conference needs one more from the Original Six. Chicago, Detroit and Toronto would be the best I think. I know that Toronto would be extremely pissed, but it would allow for bigger rivalries and I would venture a guess and say that a lot of teams players from the West would be lovin' playing the Leafs at least 4 times a year. Wake up NHL... build some rivalry through tradition. People have been saying that for decades... I think until scoring goes up it will wallow down here with the NHL. Agreed. You really from Glasgow? I see your point, but they are on the NASCAR band wagon now. That is very established... some of it has to do with ABC too. The thing that kills me is that the NHL on ESPN was soooo much better than VS... it's just sad. Bad managment at the top. Good!

No arguements here... just know how Mick gets stuck on something like that. I feel ya'... I think I just miss hearing him on games since we moved to Ohio. Iginla is definitely one of those jerks who likes to take shots on people when he knows he's lost the game... I hate that crap.

Let me make perfectly clear that I have no love for Lang at all... He and Sammy have both sucked so badly, there is almost no way to decide which one to sit. They are both so atrocious that it's impossible to decide which one should be gone. They both need to sit. I'd even play Langfeld or some other scrub at this point... they are a joke. BUT based on the fact that in the playoffs that Lang has played as a Wing before this year, he has scored goals for us in the playoffs. If you have to choose between the two, Sammy contributes less offensively... if you put the right people with Lang, maybe - just maybe - they can cover for his defense-defficient azz.

No matter what happens with the Refs, I will always contend that if you are going to win the Stanley Cup that you will have to play through bad calls and more to win it all. There will always be bad calls going against you at some point. We had a lot of PP opportunities in the first two games, so in the third, things evened out a bit. Most of that has to do with the intensity or flatness of your play. Last night, with the exception of Drapes, Cleary, Maltby, the Wings played flat and it cost them in the penalty department as well as the losing the game.

Babs has to see that Lang and Sammy suck... he just can't bring himself to sit either one of them. Honestly, Lang has proven himself to be somewhat of a playoff contributor in the past, but Sammy has done nothing... unless 50 ft. wrist shots account for doing something. Hudler at least has some hunger, speed and actual ability to score a goal from time to time.

Without Drapes and Cleary in that game... I don't even want to think about it. The Wings played a lot like they have in playoffs over the past few years... they looked uninspired. That scares me. Some of it had to be Calgary Fans and the intensity that the Flames came out with, but there were some people coasting last night for the Wings. Hopefully they see the err in the ways and make adjustments. By the way, the officiating was ridiculous... McCreary made some really bad calls. No excuse, just my opinion. You always have to play through Refs and adversity to win the Cup.

As much as I thought Tuzzi had a bad game, you have to play him... as I have mentioned before, the guy has the potential to be a game changer. Last night, not so much... he is just not all there and used to game speed, let alone playoff game intensity.

Here's the thing... Mickey makes mention of the things he sees on the ice because he has played the game and sees the things that maybe we don't. That is why he is there. He saw something that was telling to him... Iginla was getting good matchups and therefore was able to make a difference for Calgary... It doesn't mean he loves Jerome or something, he just sees that the Wings are leaving Iggy open to make plays without Lids on the ice.

Tuzzi was way off tonight... really bad. Plus the guy got hurt again... is he the next C. Rog in Motown? Anyway, he can't catch a break. Maybe Karma is mad at him and he needs to make a list of all the people he has wronged, go back and make ammends, then mark them off the list.
