Right now I'd like Calgary. After game 3, Calgary again in game 4 and 5,6,7 if necessary. Once that is all settled let's talk about this again... I am not trying to be a smart ass, but I wish these "Who's Next?" threads would stop until there needs to be a next. It won't matter until we take care of Calgary.

If you asked one of these poor abused hockey players their thoughts on winning the Stanley Cup via a shootout, I think they would either kick your ass and/or vomit... what a joke.

I just don't think there is anyway that Bab's and Holland would sit him if he can play. He is a game changer... he automatically causes Calgary to have to change their gameplan a bit. Like Babcock said the other day, "We didn't bring him in here to sit on the bench." Too Conspiracy Theory-ish for me...

Here's my issue... You have to grow the game. Bettman sucks at growing it, but he tries. If you don't evolve and grow the NHL eventually it will dwindle down and waste away. If they don't attract new fans to the NHL, cities will give up their teams or fold. Kids will not grow up wanting to play in the NHL and then the talent in the NHL will decline. Look at how the NHL has slipped just in the last 20 years. NASCAR came in and made us the distant 4th professional sport in North America. Somehow, someway, the NHL must continue to find ways to attract new people to the game. Not saying the "glow puck" is the answer... I hated it too. But if it grew the game (which it didn't) I can live with it.

SoupGuru, you are dead on... these guys don't need to completely annihilate one another. There are certain hits that you have to pull up a bit on. Mickey talks about them all the time. There is a difference between lowering the boom on a guy (shoulder/elbow to the head) and checking him. These hits are like head-hunting out there. The total lack of respect that some of these guys have for one another is amazing to me. We also need to talk about the body armor these guys are wearing these days... no wonder people are getting carried out on stretchers. Soften the pads NHL/NHLPA before someone is paralyzed or has a serious head injury.

So far, no question that the West is way tougher to battle in right now. The (6)Rangers are about to beat the (3)Thrashers... The (7)Lightening are pushing the (2)Devils pretty hard (another team I would fear)... The (8)Islanders look like crap and are still staying with (1)Buffalo The (4)Senators and (5)Penguins are battling it out... I think the games in the West are much tougher, not to mention all the amazing goaltenders that we have over here. Luongo, Kippers, Hasek, Backstrom... you could even throw Vokoun, Nabokov, Giggy and Turco in there.

I wish DTV would make a deal with them... watching the NHL on CBC would be a dream come true.

First off, get DirecTV again, cable of any kind blows... If the game is on VS in your area, it will not be on the Center Ice channels from what I have seen so far. I have been able to watch every game so far on Center Ice or VS/NBC. Not absolutely positive of what Digital Cable does with Center Ice, so you may have to check with them for scheduling.

Kipper looks like he is patting Homer on the back... there's a friendship brewing. Homer is talking him into coming to Detroit so he only takes his abuse in practice.

I would love to have him on the Wings anytime. That being said, the thing I hated about him in the first game was the chipping at guys like Zetterberg and the like. If you are going to start s***, why not do it with an agitator like Maltby or someone like that, but Z... no idea why these guys pull that crap. I know it's part of the game, but it still pisses me off.

I say pick up the DVD set... definitely worth it.
