Dear Dominator, Please stay in the net and avoid the phantom elbow.

Beer almost shot out my nose when I read that! Awesome!!

It seems like the day of, or even the night of, it lists the game on channel 95 on DTV... I am hoping that will happen again.

Gonna' be tons of fun listening to Grapes on NBC... hopefully Hull respects him enough to give him equal time... Clement is gonna' freak between the two of them. Does that mean Chicken Parm is toast?
-
It's from an amazing TV show called Arrested Development that was canceled far before it's time... pick it up on DVD when you get a chance and check it out. Pretty freakin' hilarious.

If you have a TiVo HD Receiver, will they still have an HD channel for the VS games?

Really sad... anytime the NHL can grow itself and increase popularity, it's good for all concerned. The fans, owners, players and the league all benefit. I would love to see the personalities of some of the NHL players showcased no matter how they do it. The NHL is such a great sport live (in person). The NFL has turned a sport that is some ways is slow and boring in person, into the most popular sport in the U.S. Why would that suck for the NHL? NASCAR has done some of the same things... No idea how the MLB and NBA get fans honestly, but that has more to do with my personal taste than anything else. LOL! I resemble that comment! We should have a LGW's beer bash!!

Labatt Blue and Guinness both have there place... Labatt is my everyday beer. I bust out the Guinness when I want a nice change of pace... maybe a Black & Tan. Back on topic, won't CBC still show the game, just not in prime time?
-
No need to worry... maybe it'll be good for other guys to step up. Every champion goes through a little adversity on their way to the Cup.
-
I have the hardest time watching his games because he does the play by play on my NHL 2006 for Playstation 2... I keep waiting for the color guy to make the same lame remarks throughout the game.
-
Neither one of them are 100% sure of their return... I am going to be cautiously optmistic though.

I think this may be it: There is a great video of him fighting this guy Kisio too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=elxPHJFkrQ0

Федоров является whiney суки. Оставьте его лежать здесь, в городе Колумбус. Sorry, had to be done.

First off, I am amazed that you actually asked people at the game why they were booing Sergei... Did you ask them because you actually cared or were you the thought police of Joe Louis Arena? If that sounds confrontational, I'm sorry. Just kind of wondering what the intent of your questioning was... Secondly, I went to my first Wings game when I was 4 years old, back in 1976 and followed them ever since... so therefore, I was there during the '90's and enjoyed the amazing plays of Sergei Fedorov. But I mention again, part of the reason he is not beloved by everyone in these forums is because he was a whiner and a selfish player at times. If you were a serious hockey fan of the Wings for any amount of time, you will also remember that. The bottom line is, some people blindly love Sergei and some don't. To me it feels like when someone talks smack about someone you love. While it may be true, you are in love with them and can't see what other people choose to see. Those who hold Feds up on a pedestal will never see eye to eye with those who decide to boo him. Nor will the boo-ers see your side, so why can't we just allow people to boo if they want to.

You Fedorov Slappies must have missed half the guys career in Detroit... He complained about ice time, about his role on the team, about playing defense, about not being "loved" by the fans in Detroit and on and on and on. I did a quick archive search of "Sergei Fedorov" on www.detnews.com and the first four entries in 1999 were titled as follows: 1. Amid criticism, Fedorov chases elusive acceptance: Center denies report, says he is happy as a Wing January 19, 1999 2. Fedorov grumbles about role: Red Wing remains uncomfortable over ice time May 21, 1999 3. Frustrated Fedorov fires back: Slumping Wing upset over 'totally screwed up' situation February 7, 1999 4. Fedorov seeks MVP form: Red Wings forward has new attitude, will accept any role. September 2, 1999 That was just 1999... I would love to read the articles, but I am not paying for them. You people need to wake up... I am not even here to defend the booing, just the incompetence of some of the people in here who thought Sergei was a heavenly hockey player during his time in Detroit. He was, and maybe still is, a very gifted hockey player, but he WAS a whiney little baby when he was in Detroit! Stop drinking the Kool Aid people...

Seriously, he is a fraction of the player he was... don't you think that playoff contenders would have been banging down the door to MacLean's office at the trade deadline if he was that great? There was actually some interest in Lang... Fedorov could have been had for the right price... Older, Slower, Big $$ in the cap era, WHINER!
-
His giant salary... if he would play for $750K I'll give a second chance. Ummmm... Lang is a UFA. Why not for Lilja straight up?

First off... Dear God another "Stop Booing Poor Fedorov" thread?!? Please no more. Why don't all you Fedorov Slappies go start a "letscheerfeds.com" and you can all speak of his amazing works, as you obviously believe him to be the Messiah. A huge part of the Feddy booing has to do with the fact that he was a whiner... if you don't remember that stuff you are only remembering the good and forgetting the bad. He has a propensity to be a big cry baby when he didn't get his way... As I am sure many people have stated before on this same topic, he always wanted to be the superstar here (the one and only, by the way) and living in Steve's shadow was not easy for his amazingly huge ego. He also left Hockeytown after being offered a large contract to stay... as much as he continues to play up the story that the Wings took the contract off the table, Illitch wanted Feds back and Feds made it known that he was going elsewhere... He always created drama. Whether it was his "marriage" and eventual "divorce to Kornikova or his year long contract holdout, he was always causing drama. We loved him for the excitement he caused when he played hard, but were always wondering when he was going to "take a night off." If you talk with any real hockey people they will tell that if Sergei had half the heart of Yzerman, he would have been the one of the best players ever. He never had the heart and that is why he never got the love and acceptance he wanted. It all started with this: ---------------------------- After a lengthy holdout to start the 1997-1998 season, Fedorov, a restricted free-agent, was offered a contract by the Carolina Hurricanes worth up to $38 million (with bonuses). The Red Wings matched the offer on February 26, 1998, ending Fedorov's holdout. The offer broke down as: $14 million for signing, $2 million for 21 regular season games, $12 million for the team reaching conference finals. $28 million for 43 total games in 1997-98 is the largest single season amount paid to an NHL athlete. Fedorov helped the Red Wings win their second consecutive Stanley Cup that year. (From Wikipedia) ---------------------------- In a blue collar town like Detroit, that will make people lose respect for you. Why do you think so many people get empassioned about Dats? He is going down the same road... holding out, asking for huge paydays. You have to earn your respect in Motown, you can't demand it.

This is my first year not in Detroit for the playoffs... does CENTER ICE carry playoff games? A little worried about it...
-
Did anyone happen to notice that Detroit and Michigan are in the middle of a giant recession? Hmmm. Maybe you should talk with Jenny Granholm about the attendance... maybe more taxes would help? Maybe some of the auto workers and companies that do business with the Ford/GM/Chrysler thing Illitch should lose the advertising on the boards for Toyota... just a thought.

Was Feds a huge part of our Cups? Yes. But are people forgetting what a drama queen he could be? The guy single handedly (along with that douchebag Karmanos) probably started the ball rolling on a salary cap... If you'll remember, Feds sat out almost an entire season as an RFA and Karmanos signed him to that crazy ass contract that was front loaded to the tune of at least $20 million if I remember correctly. The guy has always been a great player when he decided to be, but he took a lot of nights off. He had amazing talent, but never had the heart and determination of Stevie. That is why his childish antics will always be remembered and his whiney ass will be boo'd by Wings fans. Stop living in your dream world about what great character he had, because it just isn't true. He was selfish and he should have never left the Wings.
