I'd be extremely suprised if ANYONE would be interested in Williams... I think he has never fully recovered mentally from the the hit earlier this year and his confidence is ZERO. Last year I can remember him really using speed to get to the puck and cause turnovers... he even laid a couple of good hits on people if I am not mistaken. Plus what line was he playing on last year? I could swear he got time with Dats & Shanny... Hank, I think you bring up a great point about WIlly playing in Europe during the lockout... that definitely gave him an advantage.

It depends if we're looking to make room for a big time FA in the offseason... Is there a game changer out there for nex season? Obviously, Forsberg may be available. Fatchuck, Guerin, Nolan... anyone else?

Better than the Rhyno? Not sure... Remind if I am wrong, but didn't Nolan sign during the season with the Yotes? He has/had some injury problems, right? I would like to see Nolan here this season if the price was right. Therein lies the problem... price being right. He seems like a guy who could replace a little of that Shanny swagger we miss.

Lidstrom only gets talked about because he is a Norris trophy winner, the captain and the best guy on the team. Chelios gets mentions because of the age thing (is anyone sick of that every game?). Most of the time if you don't hear a lot about a defenseman that is a good thing. Markov is steady and can move the puck up to the forwards, exactly what we need him to do. Whenever I see rumors of Hatcher's return I cringe... uggh. You are spot on though. Bootland and Norton have had their shots. Unfortunately they can't cut it.

Exactly... Kenny is going to do everything he can to bring someone in, but I am glad he is not willing to give up everything for these "rentals." There are a few select guys in the league that it would be worth getting while giving up picks and prospects and so far I am not seeing those players as available. SwedeLundin77 - Love that Avatar! This is getting ridiculous... Not saying that I don't love the play of Z, Pavel & Homer, but come on already! Lang & Williams are practically worthless out there. Lang couldn't even carry the puck in over the line tonight and looked like he had cement boots on... Williams... what the hell do you say about this guy? He missed an open net at the end of the game twice... his third chance finally went in. Kenny has to do something... The minute the Coyotes decided to put on the physical pressure in the third, things started to fall apart. Luckily, we have enough talent to overcome a lot of bonehead plays, but something has to change.

I am not saying that if Z's line doesn't score we lose... I am saying that in the playoffs when things tighten up, having to rely on one line will not work. When the Wings have contended for the Cup, balanced scoring was a key ingredient to success. Obviously great team defense, goaltending, special teams and timely goals are all a part of the success too, but we need Lang, Williams, Cleary, Draper, Hudler, etc. to chip in from time to time. I only brought up Philly once by the way.

Dude, I have to be honest here... I just can't get over how much you are ragging on me for my statement. I guess I thought that ideas whether they had solutions or not were allowed to be discussed in this forum. If you would like to be able to say that you defeated me with your superior logic and went easy on me so my head wouldn't explode, you win. I have been bested. To anyone who actually watched that game last night or happened to watch the Philly game, one thing is glaringly apparent: We need someone else to contribute on a semi-regular basis other than the Z, Dats & Homer line. We have a great team, but I find it funny how quickly some people forget where a great REGULAR SEASON TEAM gets you in the PLAYOFFS. Nowhere.

Under those pretenses, no one can say anything on these boards... unless of course they want to rip the thoughts of others. I'm sure MANY people have said exactly what you said to me about my "useless" thread to one of the countless MANY who have brought up problems without "espousing" (you get exta points for those big words) solutions. As I suggested before, why even respond? Are you the problems without solutions police? You seem to have a real issue with this whole "problem without a solution" thing... I guess the solutions are quite obvious to me. 1) Either Holland needs to make some trades to improve the team 2) Babcock needs to motivate/coach the team to overcome their dificiencies 3) The players need to take their play to a higher level. 4) Combination of all three Now I wouldn't want to pontificate on what Mr. Holland would need to trade for, because MANY others have done that already... I wouldn't know exactly how to elevate the play of the team, nor begin to think of how to coach or motivate them since I have no experience in those arenas either. So I guess I will just have to point out things that I think are wrong with the team and hope that a bright mind such as yours comes up with a solution.
