Not making a move on a day where we've seen so many 3rd-5th round picks going for halfway decent players is what is really pissing me off... Kenny did a lot for this team and I trust him, but you're telling me we can't get something done?

This is why I like what Shero is doing... there was a time it seemed like Kenny made moves to show the team he believed in them and wasn't afraid to go all in to win.

Yes... maybe a 2nd Rounder would do the trick. At least then Pavel has a real scoring threat on his line.

The thing I find it hard to understand is who the Red Wings really have in their system that is so precious... they have one of the best players in the world on their team RIGHT NOW. Why are we letting him play on a line with Franzen, Cleary/Abdelkader? Holland needs to make some bold moves to provide the talent to surround his core players, especially Datsyuk & Zetterberg. Iginla would have filled a need that this team desperately needs. The way I look at it, either you trade for some talent to win now or start rebuilding. Yeah, the Hawks are a horrible team...

No matter how you spin it, the Pens and their Management decided to make a push. All you people saying that Morrow & Murray are not that good are full of crap. Are they Superstars? No. Are they good character/depth guys? Yes. Will they make your team tougher to play against in a 7 game series? You bet your ass. Iginla has all those abilities and more... I'm tired of everyone talking about how we don't need guys like that. Pavel & Hank are players worthy of having Kenny go out and pick up some players to make a run. Shero had the guts to make some moves on a team that is playing amazing hockey. Even though Jerome wanted to play there, Shero still had to put the deal together. Apparently if he wanted to play here, Kenny wouldn't need to make the move. Delusional.

...and just to add to that question, who in the Wings organization do we have ready to fill that role? Quickly too, since it seems Pavel is headed home at the end of 2014. All this to say, you have Pavel, Zetterberg and Flip right now. You are about to possibly lose two of them in the next two years. Maybe it's time for a couple bold moves to take another shot at the Cup. Kenny didn't do enough last year (or the year before really) and Lidstrom must've known that things weren't going to get better, because he could've continued to play if there was a "chance" at another Cup.

So here's the real question then... what would people be willing to give up to see a real scoring winger play alongside Pavel?

We really need a player like Iginla... he's tough and can score. Just imagining him playing with Datsyuk is amazing! If Abdelkader can score a hat trick against a really good Ducks team, imagine what Iginla could do. Who do we have that plays with a bit of an edge and has some talent to boot? Cleary has been in decline. Bert can't stay healthy. Sammy is not the guy. Franzen has been horrible this year. You have guys like Miller, Abs & Cleary filling key spots on scoring lines... that is crazy with some of the talented players we have to distribute the puck. Z, Pavs & Flip are decent centers just begging for a few talented wingers. Dump a few picks and a prospect for the opportunity to see Iggy play with Dats...

Why would we want someone that would instantly make us tougher to play against? Silly I tell ya'...

I would rather see a GM willing to shake up a mediocre team than one who considers Quincey being healthy as a great pickup at the deadline... Bert & Helm are not coming to save us, let alone Sammy. I'd move two or three of these 5' 10", 178 lb Europeans in a second for 2nd or 3rd line North American with a little grit. We have enough "skill" guys... time for some big bodies.

Bert was a great power forward at one time... for some reason, he believes that he's a skilled European now. I could almost see him skating down the ice with the Russian 5 in the late 90's. Bertozomov and Fedorov spinning and dipsy-doodling all over the ice... both full of skill and potential but for some reason taking plays off throughout the game. As many have pointed out, for the price, Bert has been pretty good. I mean, didn't J-Willy get about the same contract? That guy is a complete waste of space. Bert is definitely better than him, but that ain't sayin' much. Hopefully, Bert will show a bit more intensity (along with a majority of the team) before the Coyotes send us to the golf course...

I want to make Hossa and company weep... that team is prime for the taking in the 1st round. Goaltending sucks. Getting a crappy goalie in the 1st round would be a welcome change of pace from our playoff norm. We match up against Chicago well too. Honestly, I think Vancouver and San Jose are not that intimidating either. Phoenix is the only team that I am a little scared of... youth and speed, plus a goalie that has played great from day one in Phoenix.

He got the ice time that Babcock thought he deserved... not much. Again, what does that say? Also, his points in the KHL... kind of like a league that is in between the minors here and the NHL. The talent level is not the same in the KHL as it is here in the NHL. Huds is a great little role player, but really the immense love for this guys "potential" if he got the "ice time he deserved" baffles me.

Like I said, I know that we could have used Huds this year, I'm just amazed at how much love he gets here. I don't remember him being that amazing. If he was that amazing, he would have received the ice time. Babcock did not like his defensive habits and for some reason he didn't play him as much as some other guys. I'll welcome him back, but until I see what all the buzz is about I will continue to think of him as a slightly above average player (offensively).

Actually Hudler is lazy and he sucks... People are so in love with Happy... what gives? Do we miss him? Yes, but he is just not that dynamic of a player. I know he is doing well in the KHL, but come on.

I don't think anyone like Pierre Macguire... he seems to bring out the fight in a lot of people. Must be a supreme ******...

I'm always amazed that Z and the Mule aren't on that list... heck we gave Cleary, Draper and Stuart NTC's. Why not hand them out to everyone?

Don't want to go way off topic, but I would love to have a couple guys that played a little "dirty" once in a while. It has worked in the NHL for many years, it ain't gonna' stop anytime soon. Now back to the trade speculation...

Really? He seems like a guy that gets under the other teams skin... he does it to us and many others all the time. Either way, it ain't happening this year.
