Agreed, seems silly to waive May if putting Kronner on LTIR frees up the needed cap space... anyone know the rules on that?
-
Out of all the teams in attendance last night, who would J-Willy help out the most? ...by the way, it would be nice if your jersey avatar came true someday (as much as I hate playing against him)>
-
Exactly... J-Willy is a gonner.
-
May didn't play last night, did he? I'm betting people were there to see J-Willy...
-
Just beat me to it... who the heck are they gonna' put on long term IR?

How about a playoff beard and a few trades by Kenny?
-
Seriously, what can they do at this point? They have not played well the entire season... I am hoping having Franzen back will help, but he's just one guy. I'll continue to hold out hope, but either way, Kenny has a choice to make: Ride it out or shake things up a bit.
-
No panic here, but I really do think Kenny needs to shake things up a bit. The only reason he wouldn't at this point is because they are willing to ride out this season and have a lot more wiggle room in 2010-2011. Honestly, I wonder if this whole season can be considered a slump. They have looked like a beaten, broken down team since the last couple games of the SCF against the Pens last year. They play uninspired, sloppy hockey. I think they play hard and give a great effort, but let's be really clear here, if Howard wasn't making some of the saves he's made this year, we may be right in line for a top 5 pick in the draft this year. The big question now becomes, what can Kenny pull off? Or do they want to pull anything off at all?
-
I'm also hoping that this thing can be turned around after the break, but I keep wondering if Kenny needs to make some bold moves. The other side of me says, Kenny has held this thing together for so long how can we doubt him? Honestly I wonder what the guy can even do if he wanted to change things up...

Not sure about that one... I'm leaning towards no, but Jokinnen wasn't exactly a tough guy - they also shipped his butt out of town. I think Flips has the upside that would make him attractive in a trade. You could also throw Ericcson into that category. They are probably our most valuable trade options for other teams.

Flips for Phanuef & a Grinder but would still need to dump another $3.5 Million to get cap friendly...

I would hate it if the Wings missed the playoffs this year, but I'm not going to complain too much. This team has been great for a long time. 4 Cups and many more exciting and heartbreaking years have given me plenty of great memories. That being said, if Versus and DTV don't work something out by April, it won't matter if the Wings make the playoffs or not... I'm screwed! Still holding out hope for this season... they definitely need a wake up call of some kind. Maybe Kenny has something up his sleeve.

Does Holland have the courage to tank this team?

Good stuff Drake! -
The problem with Stuart is that his giveaways have been epic... somehow they seem to end up in the net on a semi-regular basis. Rafalski gives the puck away with regularity, but he has Lidstrom as a backup... that helps. Stuart will be fine. He is just infuriating to watch lately. Let's hope he gets back on track... along with the rest of the team.

Despise both of them... Fairy & Getzcock sounds about right to me. I just keep hoping for the day to come when one of the Wings actually stands up to those d-bags. Getzlaf is really just as bad as Perry when he decides to be. They both cheap shot and take liberties after whistles... I know Cleary had his head down the other night, but not one guy on the ice even considered putting the lumber on Perry for that hit. It wasn't horrible, but there was intent. He led with his elbow a bit. Where's McCarty (from 1997) when you need him?

I wonder if there's a stat out there on how many video review calls work out for a team and how many go against a team... I can't remember too many that have gone the Wings way. This year especially has been downright awful. Trying not to be a homer, but this is starting to get ridiculous.

On Versus = FAIL

I watched FSD-HD feed last night on Channel 777-1... have not had any issues with HD feeds so far. I live in Central Ohio. I was also able to catch the Blue Jackets game in HD. Did they mention what the problem was at DTV? Why would it take until Mid-November to restore the HD feeds? Good news is the Wings game (out of market) will be on NHLN-HD tomorrow night against the Leafs.

Just got the Comcast sucks message again too... sorry. Just sick of this BS.
-
No idea if this means anything, but yesterday DTV had up their "Comcast sucks" thing on VS and today it's just the DTV Logo and music like before a game on your Center Ice channels. Crossing fingers...
-
Well, HockeyStreams it is. Day pass. Watching Hawks/Panthers... 1-0 Hawks mid-2nd Period. Once again, Versus & Comcast suck...
-
Well, called again (3rd time) threatening to cancel and got one payment knocked off... maybe I'll just have to call back every month complaining until I get it for free. Oh well, looks like I'm heading to a Buffalo Wild Wings tomorrow at 3:00 to see if they can put the game on for me. Hopefully they have Dish & DTV or Time Warner... I wish I could find out who's showing it in my area.

Just tried a second time to speak with someone at DTV about my displeasure with missing the Wings games on Versus... they didn't bite on giving me anything for free at this point, but I already got a big discount on NFL Sunday Ticket this year ($125 for Ticket & SuperFan). I also mentioned the CBC/TSN idea and the CS Rep said that DTV was going to do everything they could to get Versus back on the air. I told her that I would be missing 9 regular season games and if this was not resolved by the time playoffs rolled around heads would roll... she seemed to think that DTV would get Versus back or have an alternative broadcaster in place to show the games. All that said, I love DTV and couldn't imagine leaving them. They have great CS, great programming and a beautiful picture. If I found something better maybe I would switch, but thus far there is nothing that compares. DTV will do what's right for us eventually... Comcast sucks as does Versus and Gary Bettman. The End.

If someone has already asked this, sorry... Is the goalie for Farjestad a Wing? His name is taped over on the back of his jersey and he has red & white pads... anyone know who it is? Thanks.

Who cares if people boo someone? Are you afraid we might hurt Hossa's feelings? Will it make Detroit look bad? Do you really think of all the things going on in Detroit someone is going to watch a hockey game and hear some of the crowd boo Hossa and think, "Wow, what a horrible city. A city that boos a player is obviously not a nice place. I now put Detroit on a list of cities I don't respect." News Flash: The rest of the country already has no respect for Detroit. That saddens me, but it's true. This is still America and if you want to boo, you're allowed to boo. Who cares if it's right or not? You friggin' PC assholes need to loosen up. It's not like they are throwing things at the guy. If you don't like a player, you have the right to boo him. It's been happening since the Roman Gladiator days... what makes us so special and enlightened that we can't voice our displeasure? So sick of you bleeding hearts... you think you're so enlightened and so above everyone, but all you do is wussify everything you touch with your bulls*** ideas. By the way, Fedorov deserved and will always deserve to be boo'd.
