No problem. I can see why you thought that after reading it, but again, not my intent.

Not meant that way at all... I meant average NHL fan to be a good thing not a bad thing. I think spending tons of cash on a jersey is not a good idea. Sorry it came off that way, not a slam at all. I would never buy a jersey from NHL.com, because I am on a budget, but I am also a huge Wings/NHL Fan.

Just got my LITB jerseys... Winter Classic Z & Dats. Z in 3XL and Dats in XL. No difference in size just like other people have mentioned. So basically I think you are stuck with XL no matter if you need a bigger size or not. Look, first off these jersey's are not the real thing. They are definitely close, but there are some things that look great and little details that a real NHL fan will notice as flaws... That being said, we're talking at least $100 less than what you get from the NHL.com site. That alone makes the purchase worth it. I noticed a few different shades of red on my Zetterberg Winter Classic jersey, but again, for the price, most people will not notice. The stitching, numbers and fight-strap all look legit. If you are looking for the very best and willing to pay over $150 for an NHL jersey, don't bother... but if you are an average NHL fan living on a budget, make the purchase. I would recommend purchasing multiple jerseys as the shipping will run you around $35 - 40 to the US. The two jerseys I purchased arrived in around two weeks and when I was wondering about shipping I emailed and got a prompt response. Hopefully not all of this is rehash... if so, move along.

Hey brother ... Hey Hermano... Do you think when Sergei left the Wings for the Ducks, he looks back now and has a Gob moment? "I've made a huge mistake."
-
He didn't say that... He is saying how great the Wings Management is. He think Franzen & Hossa will be resigned.
-
Me too... it's a holiday for me every year.
-
I think Burke might be retarded... Murray couldn't dump that P.O.S. all year.
-
This is probably the slowest, most boring trade deadline I have seen in 10 years... come on Kenny, get some grit!
-
Let's see some movement here! Where is the blockbuster? J-Bo to VAN would be amazing... wow!
-
Ummm... not gonna' be in the lineup for the playoffs. Downey is not the answer.
-
Kenny, please do me a favor... get Neil. Thanks.
-
I don't think a lot of people think it matters... I on the other hand think we're in desperate need of someone like Neil... if SJ gets him I will be so pissed!!
-
Come on Kenny... get us some grit Foo'!!

Recchi to BOS...

I have been a Koppy hater this year and he has looked a lot better... ...but come on with this Osgood stuff. He has had one good game and at least ten or more bad games. I am still not feeling great about him. The DEF played very well tonight and Ozzie stopped what he needed to and even made a few good saves... the jury is still out. All that said, I hope and pray he proves me wrong. I want Ozzie to catch fire and get on another Stanley Cup run. edit: spelling

Brendan Morrison, Gary Roberts and Miroslav Satan all waived
scotzman replied to Heaton's topic in General
If the Bolts waived Roberts, would we only need to pick up half his remaining salary if we picked him up? He has a $2M cap hit this year. In fact, why not send a low round pick their way and get him before he has a chance to be claimed? -
That was actually very interesting... thank you. I guess with the celebration stuff it depends on the moment in the game, the importance of the goal, all sorts of stuff. Really what it comes down to is personal preference. I love a good celebration, but I am partial to Stevie Y (and Dats and Z pretty much do the same thing, they learned from the best)... Stevie celebrated the big goals with a little more pazzaz, but in general, he was pretty low key.

Yeah, you should find that clip... that is so similar to Ovechkin's celebration I had to do a double take.

Honestly, as one of the comments suggested below the article, Cherry did not necessarily talk smack about the Europeans, but rather the European style of hockey. Granted, by default that makes one think that he doesn't like Europeans. Let me ask this: If I dislike Country Music, does that mean I dislike the people who play it and think they have ruined all music for everyone? Maybe I think Garth Brooks is a swell guy and we have a lot in common, but as far as his music goes, I'm not a fan. Does that mean I want him out of the music industry (I realize he is MIA from the music biz)? Why can't the guy prefer a particular style of play? What style did everyone say the Ducks won with a few years ago? A North American style... is that somehow racist? You can disagree with Cherry all you want, but he is entitled to his opinion just like everyone else... and for the record some of what he said is true about the Wings. You all get back to me if Downey (or any other player for that matter) hits a few people at the Joe. As Mickey always says, "Not a person in their seats right now. Yeah, they hate this don't they?"

Spot on my friend... I will say it again, people who dismiss the positive effects of having some grit and some toughness that can be backed up on the roster obviously just don't get it. I'm not looking for a UFC match, just a guy or two that makes the opposition think a little. If Holland doesn't add some toughness at the deadline, we'll see how things go.

I don't think I ever said they needed someone to fight in the playoffs. What I said is that a component of each championship team has been someone willing to stand up to people. I know there is rarely fighting in the playoffs, I have been a Wings/NHL fan for 30 years... but you need someone other than Lilja, Samuelson or Hossa to stand up for the team once in a while (Hossa fighting should tell you how badly they need one guy on this team to stand up to the riff raff). Secondly, I think your lame ass comparison to the crowd cheering being like a laugh track is ridiculous. Are you a big fan of soccer? Maybe golf if more up your alley... either way, I question whether you have ever experienced a playoff game at the Joe filled to capacity. The atmosphere is amazing... if that is a laugh track, I'll take it. I am picturing you wearing a smoking jacket with a pipe and reading glasses with the sound turned down on the Wings' games and quietly saying "Huzzah," when they score. You obviously are a student of the game since you would watch it in a practice facility... you must be their number one fan.

I would not disagree with you about the winning... I never said that it was a winning brand of hockey when Probert and Kocur were on the team, but I think the key element that is missing from this team that was a part of each championship over the last 11 years is one or two guys who played tough and could back it up. 97 - Shanahan, Lapointe, Kocur, McCarty 98 - Shanahan, McCarty 02 - Shanahan, McCarty 08 - Drake, McCarty I love the style of play the Wings use. All I am saying is that Cherry has a point. He is not dead on, but he has a point. We are missing a piece that has been a part of every championship. If you don't see that, I am not sure that this conversation can go anywhere. The Wings are amazing. I love watching them, but I also love to see some emotion and some toughness when needed. By the way, so do 20,000 people at the Joe or any other arena around the league... just take a look at what happens when someone drops the gloves or puts a nice hit on someone. Sounds like you are not interested in entertainment, well I have some bad news for ya'... Hockey is entertainment no matter how you slice it. Why would you watch it if it were not entertaining?

Can't say that I am surprised by the beating Cherry is taking over his comments about the Wings or Ovechkin for that matter, but I will tell you, whether you believe it or not, he has a point. When Downey came up for one game... ONE GAME, and on one shift he and his linemates were hitting people all over the ice, the Joe was rockin' again. Maybe some of you have short memories or are too young to remember, but the Wings used to play some rock 'em, sock 'em hockey that people found quite entertaining. There has to be some kind of balance. I am not looking for the Charlestown Chiefs here, but can we have a little grit? Lilja went down with one punch tonight... I would venture a guess that if we had some type of enforcer/tough guy, we may not have received the beat down we got tonight. Grit and tough play can change the momentum of a game. Detroit has enough grit to withstand rough play, but not enough to put a stop to the rough stuff. All you need are one or two guys that make the other team think... but we would rather have Kopecky or Maltby in the game. Cherry is onto something and if you don't see it, you don't know anything about hockey. edit: grammar
