Great site and very informative although I chuckled at Haken Anderson's gushing on his picks... Very James Bond...
-
More realistic: Redden/Spezza for Datsyuk/Zetterberg I would take the chance and make the trade of Datsyuk for Redden in a heartbeat.
-
Can you imagine the "Big Snake" jerseys being sold if he somehow gets a contract? Great Marketing... http://www.icehogs.com/news_detail.cfm?new...sID=ne039172449
-
Can he skate well? That will tell us how far he can advance over here.
-
Walk where? He can play two years in Russia before UFA hits but you have to be seen to be in demand -- he'd be smart to sign here and stay the next two seasons. Then he can leave the desirable hockeytown... The best way to get out of Detroit is to sign a contract and ask to be traded -- holding out helps nobody. Looks like he's pulling a Primeau...

"Posted by Dave14" Who Fuukk is Dave14 and why post this crap? Do you beleive "Dave14"s BS? Or do you just want to see your name on a thread? C'mon guys, why bother with something so stupid? Lets not start anymore incredibly DUMB threads ok? It is getting chronic... By the way -- Yzerman wants to be traded to Toronto for Tie Domi who Detroit will send to Tampa for Martin St Louis... and EVERYBODY wants to play for Detroit because it is hockeytown that is sooooo Keewwll!

Well I do agree it takes some balls to go with Bertuzzi, I'm a little worried that our "goon" is 43 years old. During the 2004 season he also took on someone from Nashville, I forget his name, that was 23. He didn't do too bad, but he certainly didn't look comfortable. Bad example, because they had Big Bert to make him pay the price, which was way over board. But, if somebody took a shot like that at Yzerman, I would want more than an apology. A goon won't stop any hitting, but it won't encourage people to run over us. I didn't realize he had the chance. I didn't see much of Hatcher to judge his play. Probert? The alltime greatest fighter is now lounging in his backyard in Windsor sipping an ice tea awaiting his next court date -- out of the game for four years. (he'd still be our best fighter, lol).

Those are scrums, nobody even drops gloves -- the last time I saw Cheli drop the gloves and fight he lost to Luc Robitaille. Any resistence is nice though in this age. Chelios used to jump in and grab Bob Probert from behind when Probie was running guys but that is chicken dropping in alot of books. They will grab a couple tough guys off the sCRAP heap but there are not any top notch heavyweights out there except Matt Johnson.
-
I thought they were soft with those two guys -- they are now jello without them (or replacements).
-
Bootland is 3rd or 4th option -- a larger version of Avery -- he can't hang with heavyweights losing badly to Daryl Sydor (a daisy) was proof of that... We need an aircraft carrier not a pt boat...
-
If he signs with another NHL affiliate we'd get compensation, otherwise we retain his rights with the qualifying offer. Maybe playing on an independent team would be good for him.
-
What is with you and this Brown guy? Get a room! This may not even be true... Not sure if you've noticed, but a lot of teams are hanging back and waiting it out. All these teams (with the exception of Philly) have not been able to get FA's for years and they are like a kid in a candy store right now. Evaluate Holland after training camp or possibly when the season gets going a bit. By the way, the last time I checked, Chelios and Fischer can clear people out from in front of the net... How many more of those guys do we need on our team? Sounds like you want to rename the team the Detroit Goon-Wings. "Goon Wings"? Because the we want the Wings to sign a few guys with grit? Sounds like you want to rename them the Detroit "Pink Wings" I always called them the petite wings... Geez, we need a heavy or two -- or they will be flys on a windshield wings...

That is just plain stupidity right up there with trading Zetterberg for Belak -- wht bother starting a thread like this... Heres one: Daryl Sittler is coming out of retirement so Toronto can trade him to Detroit for Steve Yzerman who according to Ek, has never liked Detroit and wants to play for the Leafs...
-
I had to turn it off after Jones and Joey sat -- that was awful to watch...
-
Thats old news too... That is funny that Zetterberg's agent allegedly floated the trade rumor of him going to Toronto for Belak and Psycho Eddy -- that is not a very bright agent...
-
Thats when you sit him down and have a talk -- I cannot see a veteran team like Detroit getting shaken up by a prospect. He would be a nice project.
-
You don't sign a guy to a three million dollar contract and trade him... They are smoking crack in Toronto again.
-
"The Bad One" part two...
-
I cannot emphasize the yes vote any further. If there is going to be less fighting why are all the other teams signing and trading for capable tough players? As it presently stands the Red Wings are going to sodomized physically this season. When Ken Holland wants to get bigger there is a crises.
-
I agree this team can use all the swag it can get.
-
16 goals in two seasons -- he needs to find his game and breakout this season.
-
"More than likely, it's designed to prevent players from being injured in meaningless fights that usually do not affect the outcome." If they really wanted to stop the stick penaltys and cheap shots they would go the other way and get rid of the instigator penalty and let the player police the game themselves. I like a good fight but really worry about the stick swinging... So, any rumours about who GR may look at to enforce? Bootland is a number three guy -- I feel they need two big boys.
-
Now we know why Senator Kerry is missing from his job so often -- he's Eklund!!!
-
They can't afford to add any big names unless Datsyuk and/or Zetterberg stay home for the season.
