Boucher has been signed by the lightnings and the jackets have four there men too so his sticking put this year.
-
Exactly it was a cap hit of 4 million so god knows how long of a contract that was going to be? Minimum a 8-10 years contract with very low $$$ in the last years.
-
Good signing Yzerman!
-
2 year at 2.5 million would be an awesome bargain.
-
To be honest with the Holmstrom signing it would of been awesome if he was signed at 1.5 million $ but anything in between 1.5 - 2 million is a great deal. So having Holmstrom at 1.850 m $ is awesome. Holmstrom might not be your sniper that most of LGW is wishing for (Kovalchuk) but his probably one of the most important key players on this team since his been here. His a very crucial player on the PP for the Wings and for all those years that we've been ranked in the top PP's it was due to his presence. He is getting older and he will contribute to this team with all he can, now will he improve from this past season chances are yes because he had an injury last season just like half of the team. Worst case scenario if his play decreases then it's only a 2 year contract at 1.850 it can't hurt us. I'm glad we kept Holmstrom.

lol every time I post on this thread Philly scores.
-
Pronger cost the game for the Flyers. 3 of the 6 goals we're due to Prongers poor play.
-
Philly had two great opportunity to score and didn't !!!

This games over ...

LOL LGW did get overpopulated loool, I remember back in the days it was much more relax in the boards in the years I had joined 2001-2002 around then. (I had another user account lol)

Well I did hear on the team 990 that he was the most highest paid GM in the league. I might of misheard it but ya I get your point that's why I mentioned that I was totally happy for Yzerman. Agreed with you that he was 3rd in line but there are some stuff that was mentioned that makes me think the $$$ had something to do with it also. In his conference Yzerman stated: "Tampa Bay made an offer I couldn't refuse"(or something like that). I'm not even saying that Yzerman is in it for the money but it just made his decision much easier and as he stated himself the deal was to sweet to pass on.

Leino would of been a bust in our system / team / coaching, his just not fit for this team but as you can see other coaching / team / system he has the potential to be a quality player 40-50 pts scorer.
-
There's one thing I can be sure to tell you is that Steve Yzerman has never played for the money but this time it was all about the $$$. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing Stevie in fact I'm really happy for him with this opportunity.

Good length and good cap hit, anyone else thinking this may be his last contract ever?
-

I would take Lecavier any day of the week but his contract ... never. -
Seems to me these couple of last years we've been getting more trolls on the boards then ever.

For everyone that think its a con for re-signing lids at that much I just want to let you guys know there is no other FA that could even come in the Wings and have the impact that Lidstrom on this team. Im really with him re-signing IMO best FA signing this off season. Would rather have Lidstrom over anyone. The second this team will lose Lids, Wings will fall down to a good team from being elite.
-
For the poster that posted that Lids was making 7 million for the past 10 years and couldn't he take a pay cut. Just to let you know Lidstrom has been taking a pay cut his all career to keep this organization intact. Any other team would of paid 8 million and up for Lidstroms services in the past 10 years. 6 million for one year is a good deal IMO. He just took a pay cut of 1.5 million $, will play a major role in the lineup and easily is the best D in the league. For all those people that are complaining about the pay cut wasn't enough, let me see you guys take a pay cut from your jobs.

I see him playing 2 more years and after that calling it quits. signs a deal where did u see that?

I was wondering if the NHL should do the same thing as the NFL does with the SB. Choose to have the final games of the Stanley Cup in the city that's been chosen. Some fans have never experienced the Cup finals or an excitement as far the finals series and it can just attract them back to hockey specially for some of those dead cities in the NHL. Example* (Just an example): If this year the cup finals we're held in Phoenix, like that Phoenix would be rocking with visitors from each 2 other cities that are competing for the cup. There would be a lot less traveling for the players, less fatigue. There wouldn't actually be a home field advantage, would be plain grounds. Fans would still end up going to the games and it would have a mix of the two teams per game. This is not what I'm suggesting I just thought about it and was wondering what would your opinions be guys.
