I'm sorry if this has been discussed before but I was wondering what your thoughts are on this discussion. Some of my collegues we're having a discussion that the retirement of Lidstrom will have a bigger impact on the Red Wings then Yzerman's did. I do tend to agree but I ask you fellow Wings fans couple of questions regarding on this discussion. 1- Who's retirement do you guys think will hurt the team more and why? 2- Will you be more sad seeing Lids hanging up the skates or it can never be more saddening then stevie Y? 3- As different positions on the ice, who do you guys think had a better career and if you we're going to have one of this players on this team who would you chose and why? 4- Do you guys think Lids was a lil' shadowed in the previous years due to Yzermans success?

Even tho I hate Bettman, I must agree business standpoint his getting it done thus far.

Ya I think your right 7 games are too long for it to be like the SB.

I highly doubt Ozzie being traded unless we're not making the playoffs and we send him off to a competitor in need of a goalie / depth. Howard is good, I'm still not 100% sold on him maybe about 85% as of now but will see how he handles next season. He needs to be better then this season he just had. After Howard I wouldn't trust our goaltending on anyone else but Ozzie. McCollum is still not ready for NHL nor backup duty. Assuming Ozzie is gone and Howards plays bad or get injured ... we're doomed. As I said the only time I would be okay with trading Ozzie is at the trade deadline.

I'm happy for Stevie, let's be honest I'm more happier then sad. He wasn't going to wait forever until he got the GM position in Detroit but at least like this Yzerman will get excellent experience and when the days of Holland are over he will re-join the Wings.

I want Philly to win & I think Philly can win. Who I think will win ---> Chicago

Well now that the Habs are out I rather Philly wins then Chicago. I love Hossa but I just wouldn't want to see him lift the cup with 'Hawks jersey on.

If the Wings had prevailed and beat the Sharks in the 2nd round. How do you guys think we would of handled ourselves facing the 'Hawks in the 3rd round? I really feel that we would of been matched up better against the Hawks then the Sharks did.

I agree with most of the posters, I don't think the Wings would of won the series but probably win a game or 2.

I would trade Patrick Marleau & a 2nd rounder for Carey Price & wtv else we can get along.

He wanted a championship team, he wanted to stay in the team it's plain and simple, no one forced him he could of left easily it was his choice. Now if he wants to be greedy and ask for more then his worth well I'm sorry but he needs to go. Every $$$ counts in the cap era, his 37 and not getting younger and I do know that there's probably no 1 that would replace him but hey I rather keep the $$$ spend else where in need. (Defense)

If there's one team that can take out the Hawks now it's the Flyers. For once in my life I actually want to see Pronger's team to win. Philly > MTL I think Philly can pull up an upset against Chicago, there defense is incredible specially at blocking shots.

Plek is a UFA, Montreal doesn't have too much space in the cap and they still need to re-sign Halak - Price - Lapierre and much more RFA's that they've got. If Montreal doesn't trade one of the high paid players they will be losing a key player(s). There at 45 mil, with 17 skaters.

Go wings Go !!! Great season boys, we had our up and downs but still and will always be a Wings fan. I'm still proud of this team considering the two last 2 runs.

Agreed Wings need to move on with Maltby, It'd be sad to see him in another uniform but at least we know his heart will always be with the Wings.
