He is a little overpaid but the good part is his only 26 and his prime is right about here. If next season his production doesn't boom out look for a trade. I like the kid but his all ready a little late. At 25 - 26 Zetts was putting numbers past the 60 to 80 At 25 - 26 Dats was putting numbers past the 60 to 80 At 26 - Filppula has put up 26 points in 43 games. Let's be honest we we're all expecting more from Filppula, at least a 60 points scorer / season. His best season thus far is 40 points in 80 games which isn't that bad but must be much better then that.

You can see Eaves is gaining a lot of confidence more and more the season progresses.

Lidstrom after him I'd have to go with Zetts following by Holmstrom and Franzen.

Not to bash Flip but I'm sure more people would take the gamble with the Kesler signing at 5 million a year then Filppula's contract. Kesler is a top 3 forward in Vancouver and is still very young but shows a lot more potential. The heck Vancouver fans will be happy in the following year unless there's a major injury which could happen to anyone.

Agreed a 3 year deal will be too long, a perfect scenario would be ^^^^^^^^^^^.

In reality we weren't going after Leino, he was more like a backup plan. We we're more after Brunstrom but he eventually wanted to sign with Dallas so we turn our heads toward Leino. Leino was just a failed experiment. Hope this one turns out to be a successful experiment. He was playing good for a team with no actual stars and was pretty darn fast, will see how he pans out if he eventually decides to sign here. Look for him to spend some time in GRG before making his transition to the NHL.

We're currently holding the 8th spot, if we can actually keep it until the playoff start I have a strong feeling we can knock off the top seads. I think we can manage to go for two rounds then probably get knocked off but I just don't see us losing out in the first round. How about you guys, if we get in playoffs how far you guys think will get?
