I would love that to happen but I would rather not trade for Kovalchuk and just sign him July 1 2010 because it's nearly impossible Wings make it to the finals again 3 year in a row. Wings are too tired 2 years in a row. Wings we're out of gas this year but they managed to pull it off. If Wings go out next year 1st round and rest a long time ... Sign kovalchuk ... now we're talking .

What about Mats Sundin. I'm sure his stock dropped more since last year and he wouldn't mind taking a 1 year 3-4 million to play with the Wings for a chance to win the cup. His not the same as he use to be but how will he hurt us on 1 year deal? What do you guys think is Holland after him by any chance? Anyone aware of Sundins situation career and health wise?

Kopckey not being signed here probably had a major impact on Hossa's decision ... more then we probably think.

Montreal is starting to look like the New York Rangers ... sometimes getting to many new players to the team can cost you.

Red Wings won the cup without Marian Hossa last year and Pens lost it with Hossa ... Pens won the cup without Hossa with probably losing 2 other players also with there backup goalie 2. Wings got the backup goalie from Pens and Hossa and lost the cup. 'Hawks got Hossa + Kopecky does not = Automatic cup lol.

This is actually a blessing just think of the cap problems we could of been in if we had actually signed him.

Filppula and Hudler would be great player if they could just keep the whole line together for one full season without shuffling them line by line.

We don't really need to sign anyone most of the teams are teams that need help to get better that are signing a lot of players. Look at SJ nothing major ... Wings have signed to major UFA's but that happened in the season ... Zetts and Franzen. Habs / Toronto / Atlanta all those teams don't have a core like the Wings do that is why they are spending.

No Hudler please either ... I would rather get some picks then him on the team. Re-sign Leino and call up Adkel and Helm for full time hockey. Sign a gritty player please someone that has heart and soul to win a cup (Like Drake) Sad day for us ... but can't be worst then Federov ... Thanks for everything Hossa you tried your best and we tried out best but didn't work out hope all the luck in the future.
