Good I hope Ken takes into consideration because I totally agree with Babs. We're missing that elite scorer playing aside Datsyuk ... (Parise).

You want to get bigger but you want to trade Franzen LOL ... How about keeping all three and just signing Parise. Let Hudler walk ... Franzen Dastyuk Parise Bertuzzi Zettz Filp.

After years and years analysts saying that the wings are done because they are getting to old and all has finally came true. We no longer have that "elite" young players that we use to have to carry this team on there shoulder. Our 2 first lines: V. Filppula ---> 28 years old, good / decent player at best. H. Zetterberg ---> 31 years old very good / elite at his best. J. Hudler ---> 28 years old, okay / good at best. J. Franzen ---> 32 years old, good / decent player at best. P. Datsyuk ---> 33 years old, elite / elite at his best D. Cleary ---> 33 years old, okay / good at his best ^^^ We're not too old on offense but we're not young, nor hungry for another run ... and it will keep getting worst. Cleary unfortunately shouldn't even be on a top two line. Franzen - Datsyuk - Zetterberg are all getting a year older, how long will they keep carrying this team on there back? Filppula & Hudler ...second line players at best, they just don't have that elite level to help this team win another cup. Bertuzzi is @ 37 ... we're just going to see decrease in his game. Cleary should not be resigned and be replaced by Miller when his contract runs out. Helm Abdelkader Emmerton ... will never be that top 2 line players but they are excellent in that role and thank god they are young. Nyquist looks talented, hope Tatar makes the team next year as well. Worried on defense tho ... Stuart is good as gone this year. Looks like this will be Lidstrom's last year. His injuries are taking longer to recover and his scoring touch has declined this year. Age has caught up with our captain which is really sad. I have no idea what's going to happen on defense after this year ... really scares me seeing this team going into next season with: Kronwall Ericsson Quincey White Kindl Smith * Added after edit: Every other team in the playoffs this year is young and very hungry and I just don't see use competing at there level. We are missing an elite sniper that could find the back of the net & we will be missing an elite defense after this year. All tho, a lot of people will hate what I'm going to say ... but it's not the first time that I've said this on LGW and it will not be the last time either but ... This team will never win a Stanley cup with Jimmy Howard! ... Would love to see him win tho don't get me wrong I love the kid but I just don't see it happening.

I don't disagree with you wingsfan4795 but isn't it kind of sad to see Cleary or Bertuzzi being the best options for our second line ... * Been watching the wings for about 15-20 years now and this is the worst shape I've ever seen them in.

Lidstrom is the best D to ever play IMO. The NHL has greatly changed from the time of Orr played. Orr < Lidstrom 2 Stanley Cups < 4 Stanley Cups

Really sucks to see him leave, his still 32-33 and has about 4-5 years left in his tank. At least, we got his best years out of him. I feel like there will be a lot of changes this off season for this team. Possible players going for retirement: Holmstrom Lidstrom Stuart leaving us ... that's 2 critical spots on defense open ...

This was bound to happen the second Carlyle got axed in Anaheim. Will they make the playoffs? I highly doubted ... will they be better next year? Yes they will.

I'm guessing it's injuries and IMO Zettz shouldn't play with Filppula! Zettz is being utlized as the playmaker but we all know the Filppula would rather be a playmarker also then a sniper! I think the top two lines should be more like this to get the best out of all are players: Zetterberg Datsyuk Bertuzzi Hudler / Filppula / Franzen We need Zetz back !!!

Well if I'm the owner of the Habs ... I'd have to buy him out this off-season. Considering he has 2 years left ... by cutting his 7.5 million off my books, I get a 3.5 cap hit for the next 2 years but save about 7 million in the process and have an extra 3.5 million for the next 2 years. After the 2 years the cap hit will go off as well. IMO it's the best situation for the owner and a good situation for the team. Now if the owner doesn't care, then the best option for the club would be to send him to the AHL, hope someone picks him up threw waivers for free or let him rot in the AHL. I really think they buy him out this off-season!

I'm from Montreal & here's my opinion on it. A coach that wants to coach the Montreal Canadiens should not be hired for his language but for his knowledge and what he will bring to the team. All tho, I do think that the coach should take french courses and address to the french media in french. As you guys know, Quebec is a french state and not an English one, therefore our first language here in Montreal is french. It would be like bringing a russian / swedish / chinese coach that doesn't speak english coming and coaching a U.S. team. I'm sure you would want him to go and learn English to address to the media in English wouldn't you?

I don't really mind to be honest, less traveling for the wings. People keep forgetting NHL = BUSINESS ... owners aren't there to lose money but to make money. By doing this allignment the owners are saving cost for traveling to the west to much etc...
