Watching Lidstrom play this year, he seems to be playing very good defensively making some great decisions as he always has. His point production isn't the same but his defensive game looks excellent. I really think the short playoff this year helped him out, he looks much more energized then last season. Do you guys think he will return for one more year? What's your thought on Lids play fellow fans?

You are right my bad, he played against the Hawks and let in 2 goals saving 26 out of 28 shots. * The guy had one bad game just relax people.

I agree with most of the posters, Zetterberg has declined specially in the years of his prime. Is this something to worry about this year, I don't think so, it might be something to worry about in the long term. I'm not worried tho, playing with Datsyuk will boost his game up.

Typical Wings fans, season just started and having our first regulation loss of the year all ready the panic has started. People should realize that no one can actually go 82-0 in an NHL season, goalies / defense / offense tends to have bad games on some night. Here's a little something for the poster: Ozzie first game this season and he got a blow out, big deal he will bounce back on his next start. His a veteran, as if that has never ever happened to any other goalie in the league. I sure hope Ozzie doesn't retire tho after this season, he could be a mentor for Howard as his backup for an extra two more years. * Past three seasons: 2009-2010 ---> Howard was the starter 2008-2009 ---> Stanley Cup Finals Game 7 (Ozzie was our goalie) 2007-2008 ---> Stanley Cup Champs (Ozzie saved us that year)

Good to see he retired rather then playing with the Griffins, even tho he could helped out. This guy was a very important key of the success of this franchise. He played a crucial role, shutting down the opposing top lines. Shame on all those fans that are being negative about this situation. The reason he signed the contract was to compete for a roster spot, didn't work out but we can never blame the guy for trying. Great news, on thanksgiving day

IMO for the past years we've watched Filppula, this is probably the only year that I see fire in him. I feel like he just wants to take control of the team and be the best player on this team. His matured and seems to me he will have his best season thus far, I'm loving the intensity level his at right now.
