the worst thing is that they have enough talent to be on par with that 2002 Red Wings team... What we see is just lack of effort. PS Who did Brooks say these things to? US Olympic hockey team just before the final game in 1980? If so, then it was pretty obvious...

looks like you are sarcastic... However, after watching last two games I'm not optimistic at all. I really feel bad for those people who bought tickets to watch that lack of effort in person. All the Red Wings players are proffesional athletes and they need to clearly understand who are they playing for. Obviously, they need additional push from our coaches to start playing with some kind of urgency. And this is a bad thing. Practially, it means they don't care. This is unproffessional to say the least. Especially, taking into account the level of talent they have... it is not like we're talking about TML.

At this point I'm cheering for Dallas to score few more. This is exactly what Red Wings need to start playing like they care.

so I woke up 3:30am just to watch this?

Well, at the beginning, greatest hits of all time http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqjcPOVJ2eU and part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCeU1uec86g&feature=related Just take a look at those hits. Most of those are illegal nowadays. Most of those are knee-to-knee ones, the rest are shoulder-to-the-head hits. Well, advertising this is a different question. The big question is.... Are there any differences between these two leagues? NHL back then in 80s and the current version of NHL? It looks like it is currently allowed to hit to the head until a guy gets something serious. Well, back then it was allowed too. Same with knee-to-knee hits. A lot of interference in those videos? Well, there are much more of that in the play-offs nowadays. It looks like they just set some rules no one needs to follow.

Really? He became setup guy few years ago already. And he is one of the best at it.

Abdelkader out, Bertuzzi questionable for tomorrow's opener

taken at proper instants of time this line would rock... Well, especially, in the play-offs -
where's Getzlaf? He is top 10 in regular season and top-3 in the play-offs.
-
Well, anyway "Tappara on paras"...
-
Miller is better, no doubts about it. Ritola may go to Oilers.

I would say a lot of NHL-ers can only dream of the accomplishments Dandy had. Especially, considering the level of talent (or lack thereof) he had.

9/24 Pre-season GDT: Chicago Blackhawks at Red Wings

Nice review. Looks like you are one of the few who actually watched the game. -
You are aware there are no replays, otherwise, you would jus take your classic route. Like a classis stuff in the background "boo-boo-boo"... "Crosby is good and he never cries, Orpik is big and he never thinks, Malkin is god and.... boo-boo-boo, boo-boo-boo"

Pre-Season 9/22 GDT: Red Wings at Pittsburgh Penguins

This is what I like from your report. When Big Bert is on him game there are no players in this league who can stop him. And it does not matter whether it is fighting, passing or driving to the net. Hop he is back. -
it is even.

Do you remember that fantastibec goal? 30 seconds left, we were behind 1-2... I can't find it on youtube... Edit: Want the reason I started a new topic? Can't find it...

for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, here is the place for you http://vision.rambler.ru/users/aragorn1978/1/132/ still want anwers in terms of youtube links

Is it a common thing that newcomers sit together in the Wings locker room? If not, perhaps, it was made for them to discuss the problem they had in the past...
-
I think we'll lose to Vancouver in WCF. Then Bruins will take the cup in 6 games.
-
I would like to add that we have a very skilled and very big line here. These two components can do wonders even without Bert using his size to punish people consistently.
-
Ilari Filppula will be the first. In general, I think we'll see a plenty of call-ups this year. Maltby, I. Filppula, B. Smith, Janik...
-
I've never seen a better combination of events in a long time. PS Miss Markov. Hopefully, Salei is at least comparable.
-
this. I would change Osgood and Hasek though...
-
that's exactly why no one cried when people started to hit him in the head. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tylu3vEWwE4 it does not matter how big you are.

If you are strict about HOF players then yes. If you would consider the best players of genration then you better take a look at 87 "Challenge series" between Canada and USSR. You'll never see once again Krutov-Larionov-Makarov against Lemeaux-Greatzky-Messier (they were united on PP)...
