In 5 years time span I've never seen us icing the best line up. It is always a trade-off... Now we are playing Athanasiou which is good but Jurco is on the bench and for some reason Andersson is playing. We are playing the worse goalie in the first of back-to-back games... Why? We could have easily won that game against San Jose with Mrazek in net.

we are missing our best player. With him in the lineup we are most likely 4W/2L at worst and this thread does not exist. give him at least 20 more games then we'll see.

The most annoying fact to me is he is never used like that on the national team. Just going exactly the same thing you guarantee a goal every two/three powerplays but no... he is always on the point not at the circle. Just crazy.

There is no way Jarnkrock or Janmark are making our roster this year. We basically have no place for them even on the 4th line.

If Mantha could be the next Franzen I take it. People are very quick to forget how good Franzen was 2006-2012. Mantha's not perfect work ethic can be compensated by Larkin/Anastasou/Svechnikov just like Franzen's was by Datsyuk or Zetterberg.

kind of surprising we have serious discussion about it... Towes seems slightly better now and even this statement is questionable. You can't compare these two in their primes. In his prime Zetterberg was not only on par but dominated the best players in the league including Crosby.

this third line is a dream. For some reason, I don't remember them together on ice in the play-offs. On March 26 they scored an excellent OT goal though.

Chicago is far from being a looser in this trade. It seems people have to clue who Marco Dano is. Tatar is the best comparison I can come up with but Dano is bigger and better overall. Plus, they got Anisimov.

there is nothing better than a really motivated person. We can talk as much as we want about Babcock being motivated but he wasn't over the last few years. It is tough when you already won everything...

if it would have been Soviet Union I would say that the team is "overload" in the gym. It was usual for USSR coaches to train a lot in the gym around 1.5-2 months before the actual tournaments. Then, around 3 weeks before all was stopped and the players was allowed for concentrate on the game. I've seen it multiple times back then...but,... but it is NHL and these things are not used here as far as I know. there is no other explanation for what we see from this team now.

Yes, sure, this is a first thing a 19yo is thinking when invited to play for the best team in the world... Then again "we lived in barracks", "trained for 11 months", etc. Seems like he is still in his 90s when people around were applausing him to death for stories like that.
