and now the Russian big trio went down almost simultaneously... Kovalchuk, Ovechkin, Malkin.

are you joking? seriously

this obvious trolling to me. We are not getting favorable call. We re not getting bad calls against. Everything is fine now because... these regular season games are meaningless. That is why everything is ok. Wait till the play-off for he is "sending the message not instigating", "he is sticking for a teammate", "he is just tough as nails", "good goal. there wasn't a kicking motion", "pens with 6 man advantage for the 6 time in this game"...

what is about Ladislav Konh and Yuri Butsaev? Pretty good choices too However. what Krupp did was just spectacular...
-
Although I always support him, I didn't like what I saw from Bert last game. He was lazy in defensive zone.
-
you'll not find any. Apparently, it is not a big deal if it's made by someone not named Crosby.

I enjoyed reading about Steve Y today as I usually like reading about Joe Sakic, Mike Modano, Marian Gaborik, Dustin Brown, Patrick O'Sallivan, Anze Kopitar, Brian Gionta, Rob Blake, Dan Boyle, Rick Nash, RJ Umberger, Mike Richards, Jeff Carter, hell, even Chris Pronger. The problem is that tomorrow there will be some stuff about Crosby again. Instead of some articles about those guys I just mentioned.

That depends on the league's definition of 'Automatic'
RusDRW replied to PotbellyJoe's topic in General
Wowww!!! If a goonery is initiated by a star player it is no longer a goonery! What a logic by NHL! We may stop here. However, if we would continue... what is about the definition of a goon then? 150 minutes in the box is enough? 200? more? What is about the definition of a star player? 50 points are ok? Where is this stuff in the rulebook? -

Malkin incident is not the most obvious from the last play-offs. What is about Matt Walker's sucker punch with less than 5 minutes to go in Carolina-Boston game last year? Even though Ward decided not to go, that's a definition of an instigator penalty. Puck Daddy writes that the worst case of this rule is that it allows to enforce a special treatment for star player. I'm afraid that the worst case of it is that if allows to affect outcomes of games. -
Have no problems with Crosby as a player. He is great at playing hockey... with some obvious mental problems though. However, there are more than one star in this league (Malkin, Ovechkin, Datsyk, Thornton, Iginla)... there are players (not many) who are more "complete" than Crosby (Zetterberg, Datsyk)... there are players who are better in one certain component (Hemsky, Datsyk, Malkin in stickhandling, Semin, Nash, Kovalchuk in shooting, St.Loius in skating, Colton Orr in fighting), there are better leaders (Morrow, Iginla). Nothing is obvious regarding the best player in this league and I wouldn't like NHL to routinely tell me who is the one. From this perspective I have problems with NHL. I also have problems with fans of Crosby who _DO_NOT_ACCEPT_COMPROMISES. All they want to hear in each and every post is that he is _THE_BEST_PLAYER now. He is one of them but not the only one. Wondering how long it will take for people to start calling him as the best player of all time? 1 more season, 2 more seasons? I guess some of you are ready to take another step in this direction...

Reading your comments related to Janik's play do you guys think he could become Lilja-like for our team? I mean reliable stay-at-home playing tough sometimes. I personally see some potential if he is paired with someone having a good outlet passing game e.g. Kronwall.

recently that s*** about "active stick" became increasingly popular among commentators... It is a bit strange to hear even for a non-native speaker. Especially, if it is repeated 5 times in 5 minutes
-
rather good list. Although I would rank that Anaheim team a little bit higher. That WCF was one of the best battles my team was involved in. Certainly much better than last year's final. At least, I understood then and understand now that we were beaten by a little bit better team.

yes. this is exactly what Perry, Kunitz, Clutterbuch, and a bunch of others are doing... and people tend to call it "hard hitting". Still wondering why this is penalized only when there is a serious injury.
-
nothing special. This is exactly what those players "known for their hits" are doing each and every game. I mean watch more of Perry, Kunitz, especially, Clutterbuck hits. I'm not saying this is ok, I'm just saying we are all "waiting" for the first death to occur as a result of such "hard hitting". And then everybody will chose a person to hate and blame... just like it happened to Bert.

Shane O'Brien or Brian Allen for Lebda+. And we'll be unbeatable in play-offs
-
some time in the future you'll be a reason I'll part ways with this excellent boards. I'm tired... trying to avoid topics you'are posting into... but you'are always there in each and every @#@$ topic with your "the most complete player in the league", "the most complete player in the league", "the most complete player in the league", "the most complete player in the league", "the most complete player in the league", "the most complete player in the league", "the most complete player in the league", "the most complete player in the league", "the most complete player in the league", "the most complete player in the league", "the most complete player in the league", "the most complete player in the league". Can't stand you. Seriously.

I've seen a fair share of Pens and Avs games this year. I would say both teams (epecially Avs) were really lucky this season. There will a a point in time where all those blind shots, deflections, etc will stop going into the net. However, both Pens and Avs are good teams that will pose a good record after all. Play-offs are a different universe though...

Todd Bertuzzi wonders why he ever drove away from Motown in the first
RusDRW replied to WpgMikos's topic in General
I always was a fan of Bert. I'm glad he is back. -
and even less doubts you have ragarding Staal responding and Talbot too! You know they are the bst andwe just don't know how good chams are? Is it exactle what you had to say?
-
Eaves does not put enough of effort to warrant PP time.
-
Tim Gleason is too good to be traded by Hurricanes. However, they are struggling now..
-
Excellent move by our coach! Fully agree on this decision.
-
Allen, Witt, Sutton all of them are dirty enough to compete in that department with other teams' jerks plus they are all big, strong and hard hitting guys... Still being able to play dirty is a must to succeed in the play-offs and it would be a huge upgrade over Lilja...

Salary cap is the reincarnation of the socialism you all hate so much overseas. After all this is sport not the lottery. Find owners who want their teams to succeed.
