Getzlaf calls Ovechkin a diver, O says "I have hair"
RusDRW replied to WeBleedRed's topic in General
two completely different views on this: - Getzlaf being crybaby - those classless russians -
this time of the year I'm becoming very patriotic For Russians it means we have got to beat Canada as many times as we meet. So far only once... Winning WJHC? It is bonus.

I think it would be nice for one of our young players to go there, e.g. Tatar.
-
Am I the only one who thinks he is fine? Zetter is at his best when we need his most. He has that second or third gear he could turn on when needed. Now when everything is fine with the team as we get scoring from all the lines he is just fine.
-
because he sucks, no?

Shanny is good.

10/31 GDT : Los Angeles Kings (2) at Red Wings (5), 7:30 EST
RusDRW replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
we are a different team this year. Sad that Kopitar and Gaborik is missing. We would have won anyway. 4:1 (Datsyuk - 2, Jurco, Ericsson) -
I don't need detailed statistics to say that today he was the worst def on the ice by far. Way worse than Ericsson who made that turnover.

The more it happens the more, I think, it is related to our playing style. I mean willingness to absorp the hits, not fighting back, being in vulnerable positions just to win the puck, etc. We're playing like 6'3'' team while our best players are just 5'11''. It takes a lot of courage to do this but at the same time it is stupid

Completely, no, there are always who are dumb enough, but to a great extent, yes. -

This does not stop teams like LA or Boston to go after players who hit say Bergeron or Doughty. -
Fedorov was "soviet" center. Any center from those USSR teams knew how to play defense.
-
same stuff as last year.
-
honestly, I would be glad to be wrong with my assesment. Right now I see him taking the same development route as those guys I mentioned.

He's not Gretzky for sure. He is not even young Zetterberg or Hossa in terms of impact on the ice. He succeeds basically because of his big frame and basic hockey instincts which is ok for juniors and not really sufficient to become an impactful pro. All he did against well organized opponents is took the puck and tried to go through 2+ defenders. Obviously, it didn't work but he tried it again and again. But yes, he got his 11pts. If he does not improve his hockey IQ, at best, he could be a version of Blake Wheeler which is not that bad after all. Those juniors were kind of dissapointing for me as I expected a lot more from him. I remeber guys like Carter Ashton and Zack Kassian leaving similar impressions...
-
Why do people love to bring his 11pt is juniors as a kind of special success? He actually dissapeared in important games...

I don't get it really when people are saying that Red Wings should not retire 13 and 40. Zetterberg and Datsyuk defined at least a decade for the Red Wings (2004-2014 and counting most likely till 2017-2018). During this timespan they were considered as one of the best if not the best for their positions, they got us 1 cup and two appearances and most likely spend their whole careers as Red Wings. What else you could ask for? If this is not enough, then I think Red Wings should reconsider their standard for retiring.

Datsyuk is a very unique player. Watching hockey for more than 25 years I've never seen a player like him. Adding 2 cups and 3 selkes (+some useless trophies like Lady Bing I guess) makes him a lock for HOF. It is hard to choose between Fedorov and Datsyuk as they are completely different. Fedorov is your classic superstar just like Sakic or Sundin, you can't go wrong with him as your number 1 center. He did everything at a very high level. However, I could list a bunch of guys who were/are at the same level. I would still choose Datsyuk for the way he thinks the game. It is fun to see that even a slight mistake in defenseman positioning could create a scoring chance. Wtih Datsyuk on the ice it is like a chess instead of hockey. PS I think Patrick Kane is quite similar to Datsyuk. Parhaps, one of the reasons I cannot really "hate" Chicago.

just awesome!

Signed Holland signs 4 year extension with wings **MOD Warning Post 130**
RusDRW replied to amato's topic in General
there is good thing about Kenny. With him we always made the play-offs. Imagine being a fan of let's say Calgary or Ottawa or... well even Chicago and LA sucked for most years I'm watching hockey (since 94). We never really sucked in my life and were always a couple of players away from the SC. I prefer this rather than waiting for the good years of Bennet, Monahan or RNH and Draisatl or... and the list goes on. PS One more example a bit more illustrative than Calgary and Edmonton. Would you like to be a fan of San Jose now? At least we are retooling with Anastasou, Nastasiuk, Nylen, Mantha, Oulette, Sproul, Marchenko Backman, Jensen, Pulkkinen, Mrazek in the minors. They have like two prospects, aging Thornton, Marleau and they have never been even close to winning the SC. -
March 26. Are there any doubts?
-
who are Brassard (5x5) and Pouliot (4x5) agents? That agency is definitely the best.
