There are a ton of Red Wings' fans in the area, and when Detroit comes to Jobing.com Arena they oftentimes outnumber the Coyotes' fans. This has been going on for years. How would you like to see another team's fans dominate JLA twice a year for more than a decade? LOL +the Red Wings are the most dominant franchise over the past 15 years and everyone hates a winner (think of the hatred directed at the Yankees in the 90's) +Coyotes' fans have not had much to cheer about in their >decade in the desert +there are a ton of bandwagon Red Wing fans (unfortunately true), and many times it's these fans that are starting fights in the Job (I've actually witnessed several incidents started by fans wearing the winged wheel) Bottom line is that most of the hatred directed at the Red Wings-deserved or not-stems from the fans.

Not to mention the ridiculous amount of hatred that Coyotes' fans have for the Red Wings. I've been a member on CoyotesCorner.net for 5 1/2 years. I've never bashed the Coyotes or gloated after a Red Wings' victory over PHX. I was just told today that having a pic of Lidstrom's jersey as my avatar is the equivalent of waving a Confederate flag at an MLK parade.

So first you suggest that the Coyotes move back to Winnipeg. Then you say you cannot understand why a city that can't support a team and loses it would be given another one. A bit of a contradiction in your thinking, ain't it? :looney:

On a side note, I was perusing the LGP message board. There is a thread about "which team do you hate the most". A Red Wings' fan posted that he hates the Penguins and some PIT fans came back and criticized him, saying things like "how can you hate the Penguins? We've only played you once in the playoffs." Yet, you look at the poll results and (as of yesterday) Detroit had the second highest number of votes for who they hate the most. Hypocrisy at it's finest.

Just a suggestion: if you're going to have the Coyotes as one of your favorite teams, you may want to learn how to spell "PHOENIX" correctly.

Uhhhhhh.......$10,000 per game would mean the Coyotes average ticket price was less than $1. They do have the cheapest average ticket price in the NHL, but it's not THAT cheap. The $450,000 is the average ticket revenue PER GAME, not per season.

The decision for Phoenix and Joseph to part ways was made a while ago. The only one that is negatively affected by this signing is David LeNeveu, who will be spending another season in San Antonio.

I hadn't seen the Kuklas link, so all I was basing it on was the link I posted. It looks like it's legit, though. It's a good signing for Phoenix, but I don't think it will help them finish out of the bottom 3. I think TGO is hoping to get the #1 overall pick and praying Tavares is granted eligibility for the 2008 draft!

I'm guessing most of the people who have posted in this thread have never spent any time in Seattle. The city absolutely would NOT support an NHL team. They've never had good support for the Thunderbirds. The most frustrating thing about my time living in Seattle was that there is very little interest in hockey. People assume that because a city has teams in three of four "major" sports, they'd be a good fit for a team in the fourth. That's not the case with Seattle.

Absolutely & positively an incorrect statement there. Nagy was a lazy bum who is too easily knocked off the puck. He's not a leader on or off the ice, and that didn't sit well with Doan. I'm sure Doan is much happier with the prospect of playing without Nagy than with him. The Coyotes have great young talent that could get this franchise back to respectability in the next few years. Guys like Martin Hanzal, Peter Mueller, Kevin Porter, and Blake Wheeler should definitely have a positive impact on this club. Throw in a couple first round picks in this year's draft, and the Coyotes could put together a good young team.

The Yotes have a couple more years of futility ahead of them. They've got a pretty good group of young players that should be ready to play in the NHL in the next year or two. They'll keep Doan around as a mentor to the young guys. Laraque, Boynton, Morris and CuJo will likely be traded. Look for Laraque to Pittsburgh deal in the near future. The Coyotes have two first round picks in this year's draft, and hopefully the front office can use those picks wisely.

The Lions need some major upgrades on their Defense. They've addressed some of those positions already this year with the draft, free agents and the hiring of Marinelli. Their offense will succeed or fail based on their WR's, not on Leinart vs Kitna/McCown/King. Martz will get the offense going and Marinelli will make sure the defense doesn't completely suck. The Lions Win at least 4 out of 6 in their division and 6 out of 10 outside the division, making the playoffs with a 10-6 record. So it is written....so it shall be done.

Sounds to me like you're underestimating the Seahawks. This just in......they're a pretty good team.

After all 5 Michigan losses this season, I've read the UofM fans saying the refs cost them the game. So I guess the BCS must be paying them off....otherwise the Wolverines would have obviously gone undefeated and then there would be controversy over who would play for the national championship. At least that's what the conspiracy theorists would have you believe.............
